It's Thursday and this weather is scary.. I'm affraid to even leave the house.. It's pouring rain really bad and heavy winds that the place is shaking, sounds like the windows are gonna break.. Extremely dark here at 2pm.. How is the weather where you all are today? This is really freaking me out..

Mid day in NY was not bad..then the winds got pretty bad and then around 5pm on my way home..BOOM mega pouring rain! Is it supposed to snow? All I know is I miss my beach and summertime..hate when it gets dark so early

Lisa...you're not alone girl! The weather is really scary around here as well. Has been all day....windy, and raining buckets! I can't believe all the rain....I'd rather have snow than rain during the winter. Now our driveway is all ice. I was so hoping for a white Christmas! I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for snow.
Speaking of all this rain, it's leaking in because of one of our doors so my dad's got to fix that soon before it ices the door shut!
Just head a rescue call on my dad's radio a few minutes ago for a report of part of a roof being blown off a store and there's broken glass everywhere. I guess the store clerk is pretty shaken up...dont' blame them. I know I would be freaked out if that happened.

Thanks Joanne.. It did get better around 7pm tonite but now it is really cold, heat just keeps kicking in.. I did hear about snow Jan but not alot, suppose to be for Saturday.. Man Julie, didn't think you'd have that weather as well, you're like what, 13 hours or more away from me? Well, this darn old roof held up again through it, knock on wood!!!! I am lucky there..

It was pretty bad here in northern NJ, too, started getting really dark and pouring rain around 2:30, the wind started up, and we actually had a thunderstorm somewhere around 5:30. And almost 60 degrees! I hope everyone weathered the storms safely.
Not exactly Christmas weather for this area; I know the weather is also serious right now in the midwest, too, and not to make light of that situation, but I'd actually prefer some colder temps and some snow for Christmas.

I know it, Lisa! We do live far enough apart that I would think our weather would be totally different! Well everything seemed to hold up around here. There were a few rescue calls for tree branches falling down and knocking power out and etc. and then that store ceiling....my dad went down to check it out last night and I guess a customer had opened the door to go out and when it shut behind him it created some sort of vaccum and made the center of the store's ceiling collapse inwards, and the lights all crashed to the floor. I just woke up a few minutes ago...haha here it is after 11:30!! Ohwell...it's nice being able to sleep in. But, when I looked out the window when I woke up, I realized that all the snow is gone except for like a little teeny patch here and there. One good thing is the ice is gone from the driveway, but I want snow!!! The rain washed it all away...I remember last year it rained on Christmas. I actually can't even remember the last time there was a white one. It's been awhile. Well, better get going....gotta take a shower and go with my dad later to shop for my mom! (don't worry...we didn't wait last minute...it's just a tradition to go on x-mas eve). Julie Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Holidays!

We were supposed to get a lot of rain on Thursday but it rained hard for a very short time and then was just your average rain. I'm just glad it didn't fall as snow! Think Spring Everyone! Susan

Snowed throughout the day today (well, actually, it's technically now Monday but I am talking about Sunday). Supposed to snow more tomorrow (Monday). All I wanted was a white Christmas but that was ruined due to all the rain that washed it away....and now I get snow the day after..... I don't care if I ever see another snowflake fall from the sky. As far as I am concerned, summer can arrive early if it wishes to! ;-) Julie P.S.- Sorry if I offended any of you snow lovers or snowmobilers.... but winter is not my favorite season.

Last night it was below 0 and it is freeeeszing out! According to my weather thing on my computer it's 5 degrees now. Boy...this is terrbile. I'll have snow any day over these crappy cold temps! When I went out to my car this morning, my nose froze the minute I walked outside. haha. now that sounded kinda gross...but that is just how cold it is. Di, I live in Maine. But wishin' I was in FL right now!
