I think I said this already, but snow is a four letter word. I wouldn't mind all the snow we are going to get today if it was about 80 degrees outside and the snow was falling as a warm summer rain. Susan

Right, Julie! That would REALLY stink!!!!
We're getting hammered here in northern NJ, too. Call me nuts if you have to, but I like the snow, and as long as everybody's safe and sound at home, I enjoy a good movie, some serious munchies, and a nice, warm blanket on the couch. Actually, it is really beautiful out tonight.
Hope everybody here in the Northeast does OK with this storm - stay safe!

Yes, snow is the worst four letter word around!! Its freeeezing here in MD and we got maybe 6 inches...more than enough for me! But I'm sooo lucky I'm not up in the north east with you guys and all you got hit with!! My little sister goes to school at Boston U and she says they got 30 inches!!! Eeeks!

Wow - 30 inches! I think we got about a foot. Snow freak that I am, it didn't bother me too much, but these below-freezing temps and wind chills are pushing me to my limit. I hate being cold! The snow here was really powdery, thank goodness, that made it easier to shovel, although I did manage to wrench my back yesterday anyway. Yup, Di, we got the same storm you guys had. I'm in the northeast corner of NJ, just outside New York City. Like I said, we got your storm, only we got a second hit from another one that came up from the south. The weather guys around here don't use the word "blizzard" often, but that's exactly the word they used, and that's what we got! Before everyone beats me up for liking the snow, I also like the warmer weather, too, and I'm not just saying that to save my frozen little you-know-what, either! ;D Deb

Sure, Deb. If you like snow, you like snow. Just remember, you are the one that added "freak" to that name, not me Sorry to hear you hurt your back! Hope it's better soon! I think I may go now and start some of the tomato seeds I bought this weekend. Susan

Yeah, Mallory had 30 inches in Boston and I hear she might be getting more tonight! Eeeks! Be careful with those backs guys!!!!! My poor momma has hurt her back badly twice in her life and those incidents contributed to not one, but two herniated discs! I see how much pain she's in, pretty much all the time and I feel soo bad for her. She's supposed to have surgery - two flexible pins put in the discs - that will hopefully help, but she just has to be able to put up with the pain til then. Plus the fact that the surgery is experimental and the insurance might not cover it... So be careful with your backs guys! In addition to her meds and stuff, my mom uses ice sometimes and also these pillows that vibrate, and these herbal pillows that you can heat up in the microwave. I hope you both feel better Deb and Di!!!

LOL!!!! ;D Lisa, Susan, Di, Megen, thanks for the well wishes. Doing better today, not walking "freaky" at all (kinda looked like Quasimodo for a couple of days). I've had much worse, so I think I got away with it this time. I don't think moving furniture around the house Monday so the carpets could be cleaned helped either. I've had some really terrible back problems in the past, so this had me a little worried. Di, I really empathize with your back woes, girl, but your post just cracked me up, probably because I've been there myself. And Lisa's right - heat is better, moist heat is great. Here's the thing: a nice, hot tub of water, some Cher music, your favorite beverage, a good book...that'll relax those muscles in no time! And when you feel better, beat that ice to a pulp with a baseball bat! Yes! Those herbal pillows are the best - I have a bunch of those. So soothing....... Feel better soon! Deb

I have one of those herbal pillows.. A new girl at work gave me one, she used to work at the company in Vegas and made them.. I just can't handle the smell of them.. It's in my freezer to keep it fresh, then you pop it in the mic for heat, say it's great for sinuses too, hmm, dunno just couldn't stand it near the nose, lol..

OMG! Deb..I am laughing sooo hard. BEAT THAT ICE WITH A BASEBALL BAT!! You Got It Girl!! LOL!! Glad I made you laugh...was trying to make a funny out of it...because honestly it was. When people fall....I don't know what it is...but it's hysterical!! So ya gotta have fun with it. Doin' great today...just wicked bruised!! Ooo...glad I didn't have anything in my back pocket...it would have been in my YOU KNOW WHAT!! LOL!! Ok...after REACHING FOR THE STARS!! LOL...went with the ice pack on the couch..and crashed! Then I heard Cole come downstairs...with his Croup Cough..Scared the daylights out of me..that cough is sooo weird....he was getting NO AIR..So I flew up off that couch as if nothing had happened!! Grabbed him, picked him up...took him into the bathroom as fast as I could, cranked the shower for steam...and calmed his breathing down. Then...I COULDN'T GET UP!! LOL...So here I am...sitting on the toilet lid...talking to Coley...calming him down...and I'm STUCK!! Can't move!!! I knew Cole had to get to Emergency...So needless to say...Paul had to take him. He needed a Nebulizer and Steroids...so he could breathe again!!! His poor airway was as wide as a noodle...but he's doing great now..and so am I. Ice pack really did help....what scared me is I already have two herniated discs...I thought...Uh Oh...surgery ... here I come..But Paul said...he thinks because I'm working out..that that saved my A$$! I do believe he was right!!

Yes, Di, beat the dickens out of the ice, but leave the snow alone! Glad I could make you laugh, too. I hope Cole is feeling better today, too.
Wow, you had some night - stuck on the can and everything ;D I'm really not making fun of you, it's just that I've been those situations before, and I can't help but laugh about them later.....much later. Sciatica, herniated discs, pulled muscles, yup, I can relate to all of that! Your husband is probably right about the exercise, it really does help ward off injuries.
Lisa - I've put those herbal things on my head when I've had sinus infections, kinda look like Princess Leah from Star Wars (lol), but it really works. Makes those awful headaches go away fast.
And Jan, your date with Bert, Trudy, and Stephanie should be OK, I don't see any snow in the forecast at all for the weekend, and we're supposed to get a heat wave, too - gonna go up to a whopping 34 degrees Saturday! That'll seem like summertime, since it's about 6 degrees out right now.......brrrrrrrr!
