Thought a MOVIES thread would be good on here..in case anyone has seen anything good in the movies and or on rental!  ON rental I finally saw Talking Lives..was not bad! Good ending..w/angelina jolie and keifer sutherland..IN the reg movies I can't wait to see the ones coming up at xmas time..Meet the Fochers! That is gonna rock!!!!!! And Streisand's gonna be the mother! Hey speaking of which Trudy is Neil Diamond def. opening for her in 2005? MY mom graduated w/Neil! Said he was the nicest! He looks identical in his yr book pic to how he is now! LOL..I went to school in Bklyn with Scott Baio..but lord u never hear about him anymore! LOL..And in College I spent one semester w/Taylor Dayne! Glad she is doin so well now..she was so shy in school:) ..Did anyone see The Grudge? I didn't but heard it was ok |

LOVE Taylor! Saw her in concert and got to meet her like 5 years ago!! She was really shy in person.... she signed my "Can't Fight Fate" CD... LOVE IT!!! What movie is she in???

Movies...let's see... The last three movies I saw in the theater were...Wicker Park, Garden State and Ladder 49. Wicker Park - horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE! It was advertised as a psychological thriller but it really wasn't - it was slow and boring and just plain BAD. Garden State - loved it, loved it, loved it! In fact I saw this one in the theater 3 times. So so so good. Def. recommend it. Ladder 49 - just saw this one and I enjoyed it. It's a tear-jerker though, just to warn you. The movie my sister and I really wanted to see was The Forgotten - but then we heard it was horrible...Has anyone here seen it? I don't want to see The Grudge cause it looks a little too "scary" for me. I like scary movies but more of the psychological thriller type. I really want to see I <3 Huckabee and maybe the new Mike Nichols film with Julia Roberts and the guy who's in like every other movie for the rest of the year, Jude Law - I believe it's called Cancel - but I don't know much about it. I'm on the fence about Alfie - the cast looks good but the whole cutting Cher's song is highly annoying to me. Hmmm...I can't even really think of what else is coming out? I think A Series of Unfortunate Events is coming out around Christmas (Jim Carey and Meryl Streep) and I really wanna see that but that's a ways away... |

Janet Buddy...this is an awesome idea! Love it! Ok...what is Garden State Megan...and who's in it? Janet told me about Ladder 49. Was so disappointed, wanted to see John and Joaquin. Love them both! Haven't see Farenheit 9/11, gotta rent that. Still got to see Raising Helen and Jersey Girl on DVD. I saw Chastity..and it took all my power to get thru that movie! Whoa! Loved the PROVIDENCE Rhodes Island DVD from Kevin! THAT ROCKED!! Gotta run. Katie's got a cold and home from school.  |

NO sorry Michael I went off track was saying how Streisand will be in Xmas movie w/Stiller and then mentioned how she is touring w/neil who graduated w/my mom and then I mentioned I went to college w/Taylor! LOL..my bad! LOL..I went off the movies track under my own movies thread! LOL..too bad u were not in NYC when she played in Aida! She was great

I dunno I love travolta but found compared to others he's been in that Ladder dragged a bit..did not care for new Gere one either..just slow..Now Raising helen and Jersey girl I loved..Talking Lives is good too w/Jolie..

Di...Garden State was written and directed by Zach Braff (the guy from Scrubs) who also stars in it. It's also starring Natalie Portman. It is so so good. It's the story of a Andrew Largemen (Braff) who has moved away from home (NJ) to LA to become an actor and has lost touch with his family and friends there. He has to come home and "refind" himself when his dad calls out of the blue one day to tell him his mom has died. When he goes home he meets Sam (Portman). It has some really touching moments and many moments that are hilarious!
Yeah, Ladder 49 wasn't my favorite movie I've seen lately but I enjoyed it. I did think it was a little slow at times too Jan.
I also forgot to say in my last post that I want to see Ray too. Everyone has just been raving and raving about this movie...especially David Letterman. I've found that he doesn't rave about movies too much unless he really really likes them and when Jamie Foxx was on the show he def. went on and on about how good he thought it was and how much he liked it.

I forgot other movies I want to see...my list of want to see DVDs are - Angels in America, In America (I'm pretty sure that is what its called), and Dogville. And I don't really know anything about it - but Nicole Kidman's in it and I love her - Birth...I've only seen a couple tv previews for it. |

OMG Megan...wanted to see that movie!! Thanks for the review...ok GARDEN STATE..and Natalie Portman. Gotcha...I love the fact that she did this role too!! Something very different for her...which ROCKS...She's a great actress..
Got to see Farenheit 9/11 now...with all of you talking about it...hmmmm...sounds like I missed a lot in that one.
Janet...STREISAND...I'm Verklempt!! LOL..I saw a clip on AOL of MEET THE FOCKERS...and I about died laughing. DeNiro is awesome too...but seeing Streisand, whom I adore from way back when, even though she's a .... well... let's just say .. difficult person these days...I still LOVE HER and can't wait to see that movie! I was LMAO on the quickie AOL movie clip...
Ok...got my movie reviews buddies...thanks so much!! I still can't get over the NEIL DIAMOND thing...I went to so many concerts of him...was so "in love"...and those shirts he wore! LOTS OF SPARKLES BAAAABY!! He ROCKED! He really did....back in the 60's, 70's and 80's.

I am curious about Alfie! Jude is so cute isn't he? and I wanna see Johnny Depp one!!!!! YUM! Me and Yvette lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve him:) Hey aren't they comin out w/a Pirates 2??? thought I heard that..hey Di u would love my mom then she graduated w/neil:) I don't really follow his music but would see him live..just not when Cher is touring! Taking Lives was GRRRREAT!! There were a few scenes in there with Angelina and Ethan Hawke....Whooohoooo!!
Megan...I saw Angels in America. Was really good. Different...very, very different. Took a little while getting use to it. But all in all, I really liked it. If you'd like, I could send you my copy to view. It took me forever to watch it all! Two discs...and six chapters to that sucker! But was so worth it...the acting alone was incredible! Meryl Streep Rocked...Al Pacino, Mary Louise Parker...Emma Thompson...was very good. LMK...
That's all I've seen so far.

OMG!!! I'm LMAO...PASSION  I about lost my dinna!! LOL...I was just talking about this with Sheri!! Her husband had bought the DVD and I said..."Whatever you do...don't eat before seeing it!" It was soooo GROSS! Yeah, and I had to PIG OUT BIG TIME at Friday's with Jake before we went...had to get every last morsel in my mouth!! I about died girl...getting out to the car...feeling like I was going to lose it...and I hear YOUR MESSAGE!! That was THE BOMB! I laughed SO HARD...because you were FEELING THE EXACT SAME WAY! Too funny...I have not been able to see that movie again.... I'm going out with Jake tonight. Haven't in a long time..so I can't wait! We are going to hit the movies...got to see what's out there! Ok Guys...saw an AWESOME...AWESOME MOVIE TONIGHT!! It's with Julianne More, Anthony Edwards, Gary Sinise and Dominic West. It's called "The Forgotten"...OMG...that movie was great! Really really good...a must see! What's nice too..is it's only 89 minutes...so you're not getting the ole numb butt sitting in that chair!! LOL...Loved it though...Jake liked it too! GO SEE!!
Put on the Silkwood DVD the other night. LOVE Kurt Russell in that...HOT HOT HOT!! and the "Dolly Pelliker" character...the name itself is a hoot...OMG..Cher is so funny in it. She ROCKS! Meryl too..Her and that other girl...and when she gets her face made up like a corpse!! LOL...then when they break up..."Yeah, it's nice not being with someone that smells like formaldihide"...LOL...I have been watching a lot of Meryl's movies lately. She is one heck of a great actress. She's awesome in Angels because she plays three different characters...That lady can PLAY LITERALLY ANYTHING and she'd be great!

Okay I saw the name Johnny Depp and my eyes caught the screen.. Jan...HE IS MY FAVORITE ACTOR, MY DREAM, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, MY FANTASY, lmao I am in love with him.. he is IT for me, he just does it for me, whoo okay calming down LOL.. I CANT WAIT until Pirates 2 comes out, maybe in 2006 I heard??, and then the new one coming out soon!!!!!!!!!!!
Megen- I saw the Forgotten, and LOVED it.. I ended up seeing it twice...
saw the Grudge also.. dont waste your money.. it is another typical stupid horror flick...
Okay back to Johnny, LOL, I've got a 2005 calendar of him on the back of my bedroom door, cant wait for that new year to start baby!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Thanks Di and Alexandria for the incites on The Forgotten! I saw it on this past Friday with my mom and we both enjoyed it. Di - Garden State just left theaters so I don't think it's out yet on DVD...I'll keep my eyes peeled and let you know - you have to see it! Another one that I loved that just came out on DVD is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. |

Eternal...gotcha. Is that with Jim Carey? I think I saw that out there...Goin' out with Jake again..we had such a great time last week...we are doing it again.. Dinner and a movie with my son...now how bout that?? Any recommedations for what has just come out at the theaters?? I know Stepford Wives came out today on DVD..I liked it...I thought it was good. But I love Nicole, Bette, Matthew and shoot, I forgot his name..He was sooo funny! Played Nicole's and Bette's buddy...he played a gay friend and was absolutely hysterical! He and Bette made the movie!! Love Bette Midler...I always laugh me a*s off with her in a movie.  Ok guys..better run. LMK if you've got a recommendation. Thanks! |

I sat on my butt for the whole hour with the Johnny Depp interview!!!! and I was at work!! a few of our regular customers came in, and I told them to serve themselves because Johnny was on LOL, he looked so beautiful... ugh I love him LOL
Yvette and I saw the Stepford Wives together, it was funny, Bette was the whole movie!!
Eternal Sunshine was a weird movie too.. Ericka im shocked your not posting on this.. your the movie queen girl!!!!!!!!!! we miss you!!!

My friends and I did not like the Jim Carey one..Eternal Sunshine..as a matter of fact sev ppl walked out of the movies in that one..I dunno loved the cast but did not care for it at all..hmm..OH NO J Depp was on OPRAH?  ?  (((((((( NO! Really! AGRRRRRRRR...oh well.. God I miss everything with work all wk and my hrs!!!! oh well..hopefully they'll repeat it..someone pls email me if they do!!!!!!! He is so hot! Ok...went out with Jake to dinner and to see a movie..AND WE NEVER GOT TO THE MOVIE!! LOL!! We talked the whole time at dinner instead. Just love that guy to bits...but he and Shannon are off BC now...so...Now I'm waiting for "Grandma!, Grandma!"...OMFG!! Can't take it...But we were going to see FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS...sounded good. I told him about Ladder 49..he was so disappointed. WE both really wanted to see that. But never made it to the movies LOL!! The Incredibles came out today. Which reminds me...on Halloween, Paul and I were with the kids trick or treating...and I was teasing him why he didn't dress up...Like Batman and his TIGHTS..LOL...then he said "No, I would have been a better as the INCREDIBLES GUY!" I d**n near died laughing...he's got the belly and all! That would have been a hoot!! So anyone seeing anything tonight? We are going to try to catch INCREDIBLES with the kids...LMK...Take care and have a wonderful weekend all!
