Hello to everyone !
New here, though i'm a fellow Cher board member.
I'm really flabbergasted by reading all these reports.
Here are several points I found really interesting:
* I was a member in late 1997 and remember thinking when I received the newsletter of early 1998 that the guys running the club looked like they were "fanatics", more interested in getting in touch with Cher.
* The fact Liz Rosenberg sanction the club gives them a lot of power...
* Add the fact Lindsay Scott company seems ill at ease though also seems aware of some difficulties.
All in all, it gives us few possibilities to counter their lack of serious. The most difficult part is having Liz Rosenberg in their camp.
I wanted at first make a letter with a list of angry fans, dissapointed people, etc, but I'm pretty sure this will lead to nothing.
It's a shame Cher has such a cheap club behind her.

My friend Pam would be like hugging u re: your post Casperboy so thanks for your input..it's very frustrating..Pam already kinda Been there done that though before she unfortunately passed last yr They just sent the complaints BACK to the fan club..shame really is..Cher is a SUPERMEGASTAR and really deserves better as do her diehard fans I feel..and many many others who emailed and called but don't wanna post cos they feel nothing has been done to date! But feel the exact same! Shame really is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Esp when u see and hear what OTHER artists fan clubs do for Their fans..and big stars like McCartney and such and the Stones..so if they can noone understands why Cher's can't:( Don't get it but thanks for your input..Pam would be proud my friend and nice to see u here!

I do have a project on this anyway.
I would like to make a letter explaining why we're unhappy and what we think is shameful. Unfortunately no need to explain what we'd like (like a yearly mag for example, with beautiful pic, inside stories, discographies, and whose money would go in part to CCA or PAF - think Madonna Icon).
So this letter would list name, surname, date people suscribe, date they quit, their email and country. I would copy this letter to :
* Roger Davies and the RD Worldwide Management (including RD, Dimitry Van Dalen & Susanne Plesman) ;
* LS Management (including Lindsay Scott, Christie LaRocque & Zana Benson) ;
* RD Worldwide Management (Camilla DeCrespigny & Fran Peters) ;
* Liz Rosenberg (Cher's main publicist at WB) ;
* Tom Whalley (WB records head) ;
* Warrent Grant and his associates (Cher's business management) ;
* Risa Shapiro & Toni Howard (Cher's agent at ICM) ;
* Isis Productions & Apis Productions (which is Cher !)
* Dion Singer (Warner Music European coordinator)
And why not key Cher's product manager in Warners (including France, U.K., Spain, Germany - though I don't have all the names) as well as Clear Channel's Brad Wavra.
Of course, this letter would be copied personally to each duck at the fan club.
In my wildest dream, this letter would be simple, no frills, no hysterical. Just as serious as we think the issue is.
And with a simple goal: make all these people aware at the same time of what's going on and how cheap and gross this fan club is.
A copy to Cher and her assistant Jennifer why not too.
Let me know what you all think. All remarks are welcomed, good or bad.

Well ok Pam didn't attempt it to THAT extent! LOL..but to LSM and Isis Productions and honestly all they did was just send it back to the fan club so they are already aware....there are other contacts it was mentioned to that are already aware of it..and honestly my friend and I know Sue would agree since Pam unfortunately no longer with us that it just seems like a lost cause and that's why ppl seem Done w/it if u know what I mean..they're either afraid (they tell US their stories but are afraid to post it)or they feel all that's been ..the o'l Been there done that in which Pam "tried" to conquer and nothing got done..so ppl unfortunately gave up as they just feel her camp IS aware but it got nowhere..

If we're well organized and smart, it could raise a few eybrows. I'm fully aware it won't change anything. But at least, they will ALL know. They will ALL know that we know.
Last but not least, who are you referring to when you say "they're afraid" ? What are you really talking about (if you have msn or yahoo messenger to explain me, you're welcome).
Again, I know it's almost void to do that, but at least, we'll be proud to have done it.

I so much miss the old Cher's Friends Fan Club. I remember Susan Kane use to always keep us updated about all of Cher's appearances with the detailed quarterly newsletters. We use to be able to buy all kinds of pictures, buttons, and posters from Cher's Friends. That is the kind of Cher Fan Club we need now.
Cher's Friends fan club was a club that really cared about the fans!!!

The people running the fan club are mean and have made up lies about fans. For some reason they are being believed. It is almost as if some underling in Cher's realm is afraid of them (perhaps because of something they know about that person?). You would think the people working for Cher would be above that though.
It boils down to Cher thinks any problems have been taken care of and they haven't.

As Jan pointed out. We all sent a file of complaints to Cher's people and Pam said Deb Paull turned right around and handed the information (With our cell phone # and all) right over to the fan club even though the complaints were ABOUT the very people she handed the info to.
There is definitely something rotten going on.

What I don't understand is then you have a case where an overzealous fan bought an itinerary on ebay reportedly used it to call one of Cher's assistants. The assistant took the call and helped the person. This person later turned out to be someone added to a watch list for hovering near the buses and other stalker like activity. Someone is not using safe judgement.

And what about that Anette woman who ALWAYS seems to know exactly where Cher is in NYC? This woman was actually shoved by a member of Cher's security and called by name and told to get back. But yet this Annette woman ALWAYS knows. Either she has ESP or someone on the inside isn't so trustworthy and is telling her where Cher is going to be.

Casper boy we respect what your saying we do we do..more than u can imagine and are "commending" u..but sorry we can't IM u re: it cos we don't know u and or who you are as u see most of us identify who we are on this board and sign our names..Yea BostonQ ( aka our good buddy Dann) and others already been there done that w/the 1st Pam attempt my friend and ppl just feel nothing has been done if that didn't pull thru..we all did. And now that Pam's attempt failed and just got sent back to fan club ppl got even more discouraged cos they feel as though they just don't care or find it of importance unfortunately..Shame really is..esp when u see other celebs who are just as big and their clubs do so much for their fans..Sheri's hubby follows Mick and the boys..they're huge the Rolling Stones..he gets offered so much!!!!!!!!! Yea he pays more..so what..everyone would for a better run club! Casper Boy...I too was involved in that attempt to stop all the unfair BS that goes on with the fan club. We all told our stories and "Dear" Pam (had to love her!) got the ball rolling. She encouraged us to step up tell our stories and make Cher's camp listen! As Jan said Cher's people did nothing but send the letters and names to the very people that we had issues with! What an ugly terrible time that was...The Cher fan base was torn to bits...people who were once good friends now hated each other! There was so much hatered and angier between fans that it was very hard to stay away from all of the "bashing" that was going on. As a relatively new "computer Cher fan" ( I had never joined her fan club before or met so many people who loved her like I did) and a pretty easy going person.. I tried to stay friends with people on both "sides" and was soooo torn....I had my views on the fan club and some of its "friends" ...but felt it was best to just not talk about it with ANYONE! The very sad part about that whole time was that the last convention suffered so bad....because of all the fighting people dropped out and refused to go; the fan club people and friends may be there. I kept saying...it's for the kids guys and yet they took a big hit attendance wise. We could have made soooo much more, if all this fighting had never happened. Cher's camp should have handled the situation without turning it back to the club.
I have learned that other than the really close friends I have through Cher...Sheri, Jan, Di, Megen, Scott, Mike, Lyndsey, etc..) I stay away from any of the fan club/and friends and all dealings/talking about them.
I really do not see how starting this all over again will make any difference except to stirr up the anger again...and god forbid there is a convention coming up....and they need the fans support!

First of all, I'd like to apologize for kinda stirring up painful and old stories.
I'm a Cher fan since late 1991, I was just a 10 year-old kid from southern France who knew nothing about Cher and no one who liked Cher.
I'm a reader of various forums over the years, the good old Cher message board, and a faithful of the official Cher forum and recently this one.
Working for Warners between Feb 2002 until June 2004, I couldn't manage to write too much - work ethic bs... For a year and half I feel like writing as simply as can be.
Of course, I wasn't aware of all that was done (I'm still amazed at Jan's story written earlier about Debb Paull). And I'm utterly shocked that in 2005, in the world we're living in, there are people so strange and mean acting on Cher's behalf.
My naive behaviour was to think that we probably could give another try and raise a few eyebrows so that ALL the people around Cher be aware.
It's utterly unbearable people are AFRAID. Cher should be a celebration, bot a pain in the tattooed-ass.
I will probably take some time off, on my own, writting to all the people I mentionned. Simply, no threat, no nothing. Just letting people know there are a bunch of us out there who feel betrayed and unsafe.

Umm re: Deb Paull I met her once at Cher's L Hurts tour in NYC I think it was umm no she was ok..I mean don't know her well just was a quick hello she seemed nice..I don't know her specific involvement w/the fan club..I know she was nice in sending my good buddy Pam goodies before she unfortunately passed..I really don't know really the extent honestly of WHOM exactly deals w/Cher's fan club from Cher's camp honestly..without giving names though one specific person approached me at MSG once and he works for Cher and told me right up front that CHER "Herself" does not have anything to do w/the fan club..CHER "herself"..He had actually found ME thru an item I once sold thru the Yahoo list when he saw I was trying to pay off some of the broker debts during the Believe tour..he bought an item from me ...and I didn't realize till after the fact he's been in Cher's Malibu house and knew her..was kinda cool.. Anyways..He told me that he knew "thru the item I sold him" that I was a long time fan and he felt real bad how much my friend and I hadda "charge" to see Cher in our hometown (and it was not even near row 1)and he just said he felt bad and how he sympathized how it's not right..he even tried to get me back I remember if someone else he had promised it to prior did not show but they did.. was ok..I had met Cher prior and I very much appreciated what he said! Thought that was real cool! ..And I wanna thank my good buddy Dee for her comments..yeah..u really hit it on the head..to the TEE from all ends Dee u really did..I personally was booked flight and all to hit the convention but my dr at the time said on due to medical ordeal that summer (also cost me 2 Iowa tours w/my Cher buds too boot)so my good buddy Trudy thank god took my Jet Blue airline transfer since I had already paid for it..and rather than pay me back for the credit she did better and took me 1ST row to Providence (HEAVEN that was!!!! One of the best tours on the tour boy! Whoa..and w/all my kewl buds all in one! what a nite! Thx again Trudy and Tris was all cos of u! ..And I still donated my monies to CCA as I was booked for that too and my sister in law's sister Diane went in my place..she's not a diehard (and she's somewhere in photos w/Chad I think)but I am "tryin" to train her as a diehard..not working but trying..I agree though Dee it's a shame the convention had to suffer..betcha Cher didn't know that or the club would be turned around huh? LOL..like Pam said thru the Dr Phil interview..MORALS is impt to her right? LOL..but seriously I agree that THE fan club issue should not have ANYTHING to do w/the whole CCA convention thing..I think a lot of ppl just also broke in general from the tour..but as far as the Fan club that should not have anything to do w/the other..I have been to the convention prior..it's sooooooooooooooo much fun! How and where else can u dance ur feet at all hrs on the dance floor to Never Shoulda Started w/Ppl who ALL KNOW the words! My friends and I had the best time ever..the CCA ppl are wonderful they really are..the kidlets are fantastic as are their families and it's the "best" time ever for any Cher fan!!!!!!!!!! ! THE BEST..From the seminars..the auctions..the clothes..the memorabilia..the ppl..the MUSIC..the shows..the food..just EVERYTHING about it simply rocks!!!!! Hopin next yr will be MY yr to win that autographed Harley! LOL.. !!!!! And I commend the organizers of the convention they really do a fabulous job all around as do all the CCA ppl! REALLY a bunch to be commended for all their hard work!!!!!! I really encourage everyone to go and spread the word...To Casperboy (what is ur REAL name by the way? My real name is Clément. I'm 24 year old, and after the Warner thing (when Edgar Bronfman bought it back from Time Warner, there was this huge worldwide drop of people, I had to quit cuz my contract was over... too bad ! I loved my work there. I was in the PR department, doing TV & press for the Wea label) I took some time off Paris. Last April, I found a new job, for a very big French producer, doing live tours, one-man shows and theatrer plays. I'm supposed to sell shows, set up tours for smaller artists, overseeing contracts...

You didn't know and you had good intentions, I think it is great that you still want to write to the people and let them know. Maybe just one voice will work better than many...or perhaps timing is better.

Yeah, Jan I remember getting your call at the airport about the doctor not letting you attend the convention. We really did miss you....You would have LYAO with Matt and Sheri together, what a riot they were! Yeah I heard..cos Vonni NEVER hadda pay near what we did but then she experienced for the 1ST time what we've been goin thru for YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAARRRS towards the end of Cher's tour out in the mid west area where she lives..ONLY diff was HER broker ones to sit up close were 650 ish..whereas our are not even close to that!!!!!!! Still a pain when u camp out all nite and get disappointing seats like that..wish whomever ran the Stones fan club the way they do ran Cher's so we could avoid it:( oh well..Nice again to have a French fan aboard the C connection:) Clemente u goin to cher convention? if so we hope to C ya there buddy

I attended a show in Reading, Pa. a year ago. I met a fan there who told me they received a free ticket from the fan club for a front row seat. I was in shock. They preceded to tell me that it was not won in a contest, just given to them. I thought what about all the other fans who had to pay out to attend that show. Just not fair at all.

This does not suprise me! When you have no morals or standards and can't get people to stand by you honestly, you find others with no morals and buy them out.
I bet it wouldn't take me three guesses to get this one right.

He's absolutely right and speaks what MANY MANY MANY feel and have told Pam and myself for ages since she tried to originally turn things for the better! Sad for such a MEGA MEGA superstar like Cher..esp. when u see OTHER ppl's websites and how "their"fan clubs and websites are run! Robbie Williams is touring next September but the tickets go on sale today.getting hold of one will be like winning lotto if your a fan. but two weeks ago you could buy them from his website before they went on sale today. my friend bought hers last week.

Yeah my friend that's in Bon Jovi's club gets em BASE price before they go on sale to public as well as my friend who is in Celine's and so many many other ppl I know who follow other ppl..they get em BASE before they go on sale to the public! They never have to camp out for crap seats in the boonies and or go thru a broker! My friends locally can't believe the crap I gotta go thru to see Cher..my good buddy Jon and I always joke the "things we'd have in life list" if not for our idols! LITERALLY! It's scary the totals we have paid or should I say charged and the debts we're in..all to sit close to see ppl we've admired since birth! It cost us both our collections too boot ...Everyone can't get over how they moved SOMETHING CHER RELATED TO "OTHER TOPICS! LOL" SO predictable..I knew yesterday when I saw it that it would be moved! Oh god Bob ME TOO!!!! Funny when Pam began her campaign to try n change things around Many fans emailed us and told us the same thing..and when I traveled the globe on Cher's Believe and L Proof tours..so many fans from the getco who've been following her a long time said the same..!!! Was great getting all those updated newsletters..u knew the who what where when of Cher's every move..u knew what magaz covers she'd be on and what shows she'd be on before it was released..AMAZING memorabilia was offered to fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing was fixed or only open to a "select" few ppl as u know..was totally fair and square and done amazingly..U always knew (like our old shows in AC Bob ahh the memories)..where Cher would be before any got into the public eye..was great..appearances everything..Many didn't get for Walter's Cher Society club thereafter but I personally never had a problem..U didn't get offered as much but the newsletters and photos and updates were nice and worth the cheap membership..funny since this thread was rebumped (which has "ALMOST" 3500 views I see! Good job Pam..see someone's a watching what u started !)..I got a few add'l emails from ppl who came foward or know of ppl who had problems..and like many recently mentioned too bad the o'l CherTalk was closed..cos that was in Fan club overload wayyyyyy before pam's mission..there was tons and tons of threads and post on why can't the int'l cher fan club be better thread..was insane how much was there and problems ppl had..The list went on and on..Shame how well run OTHER artists fan clubs are run and what someone of Cher's Stature and success has to represent her..I agreed w/Dave back from the getco that at this pt a NON fan based club would be a better run for her..but don't look like it's happening but I liked his idea a lot..and Oz's recommendation once of Dann (b'day DANN) to even possibly run an int'l club..he'd be amazing, fair and honest..I definitely agree w/that one as well..Cher and her fans deserve better! **Dr Phil's interview w/Cher Pam I'll never forget what u said buddy** M O R A L S !
