I was just surfing for any Cher news today and I ran into this short article from The New Zealand Hearald giving an excellent rating to Cher: The Farewell Tour. I thought I`d Cher it. I love what they say about her! Cher: The Farewell Tour 27.03.2004 By GRAHAM REID (Herald rating: * * * * *) Won't hear a word against her. This live concert of costume changes, barbed wit and self-deprecating humour is further proof that Cher, as singer, actress and pop icon, is unequalled. Here she belts out hits Half Breed, Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves and Just Like Jesse James, shows how adept her voice is (the doo-wop of the Shoop Shoop Song to Dark Lady, which sounds like She Bangs) and pulls out a sentimental medley of Sonny and Cher songs. It's camp, comes with the sexy clip of If I Could Turn Back Time and loads of extras. She challenges up'n'comers to top this. They can't. She is the brightest star - and somewhere in there is the loneliness of Judy Garland. Essential. Label: Warners Pam

I love what they say about her too, Pam... When I first saw this thread, I got all excited because I thought this article was going to be about how Cher was going to be touring in New Zealand... And I figured if she's going to New Zealand, then she's going to Australia... And a "little birdy" told me that if Cher is going to tour Australia, then that means that she will "probably" do another U.S. leg first to help off-set the cost... I guess it's going to be very expensive to bring the tour to Australia, so what I have heard is that she will probably do a US "victory lap" before Australia in order to make going to Australia profitable. This could probably be why we haven't heard anything official about another US leg as maybe Cher hasn't yet decided if she is going to Australia...
I really hope that even if she decides not to go to Australia, that she will do at least one more US show, like in NYC or LA or Vegas... A "victory lap" with 20-30 dates would better, but I guess we will take what we can get, right? But, I really hope that Cher does tour Australia as she hasn't toured there since 1990, and I know that her Aussie fans are anxiously awaiting her return...

That's interesting. I've been hoping the Austrailian fans get the chance to see her all along, but now that hope is a little self centered Susan:)
