Happy holidays to you too Jan! (and of course all other fellow Cher fans!!). I think Susan is fine...I've googled her and she comes up in various recent articles and such for her theater. Also, I noticed a couple weeks ago that she logged in here. So I'd say she is alive and well....but we certainly do miss her!! -Julie P.S. Jan--I finally got a job...at a local convenience store. Today was my second day...thank god it went MUCH better than yesterday. Of course I'm used to the environment from my previous job, but it's a much smaller store and things are quite different....at Irving everything was computerized and it told how much change to give back, well here they want the employees to show that they know how to count so it's omitted from the screen. Oy. Not that I don't know how to count, but after doing it the 'easy' way for so long I hadda brush up on how to do it.... I'm still a little slow (mainly with remembering which keys I need to push and how much certain items cost). Wal-Mart never got back to me...I have even tried calling them but was told they didn't have any info available... oh well! -Julie

Hey Julie, hope your job is going well. These days it is good to just have a job, any job. Don't fret about Wal-Mart. My son got the run around from them too, also he got the run around from Dunkin Donuts and we knew people that worked there. Eventually he got a job at Panera Bread in Biddeford (I mention the town because I know you live in Maine). My son starts college in the fall. Not sure how I feel about it. ARe you still in college?Take care. Dorothy

Hey Dorothy,
yes you are right that with the way things are these days any job is better than none!
I live about an hour & 45 mins from Biddeford, I'm pretty central from both Northern (Bangor area) and Southern (Portland-Biddeford area) Maine, which is kinda nice. No, I'm not in college at the moment--I graduated HS in '05 and went off to college at UMaine for 2 years. Had I stuck with what I was going for, my projected grad. year was this year, but I decided to take some time off. I was going for Social Work but realized I really didn't know what I wanted to do. Instead of feeling so lost in courses I didn't really enjoy, I decided to take some time off. Albeit the economy isn't good and I probably would have been wiser to have stayed in school, but even so I still plan on going back very soon... I am sure your son will do just fine--granted things with the world could be much better but if he knows what he wants to study and finds that it holds his interest, then that is a good start at success. Right now it is hard-degree or no degree-to find employment, and the constant rising price increases aren't very encouraging but he can't let that get him down. ...at least, that's my outlook on things.
Nice hearing from you Dorothy!!
Julie
