Well, guys this is it...Pat goes to his STATE games this weekend. I have to wake him up in a bit, and than he is off to the state special olympic games. He will compete in the shot put (not his thing at all), the 100 meter dash (usually doesn't do to bad) and than the standing long jump..which is really his thing! He is after all the grasshopper! Just keep your fingers crossed and say some prayers that he does his best and has a blast. Also that it doesn't rain on him tomorrow would be nice...they are talking about scattered showers. Thanks DEE

Well thanks everyone! We are back now (Saturday evening) and it was a HOT long two days! Pat got a bonze medal in the shot put which was a surprise to us..cause he doesn't do real good with this one, doesn't have the upper body strength. He got a 4th place ribbon in his 100 meter dash. His long jump wasn't until late Saturday, and by the time it came everyone was burnt and spent. I had made tee-shirts for Matt and myself with pictures of Pat jumping and it said JUMP Grasshopper Jump! on them. EVERYONE LOVED THEM!! Thanks Lisa cause i got the idea for the collage of pictures from your wallpaper. Pat went up against one of the boys in his class (he isn't very nice to Pat usually...and they have had a rivalry between the two of them since grade school) for the long jump. Of course this other boy is very popular and I felt so bad for Pat when they came out to jump all the kids were hooting and hollering for Cody and not for Pat. This really bothered me cause they are both in the same group and I felt everyone should have rooted for both. Well, Pat didn't do too bad, he ended up coming in second place so he got the silver medal. Cody beat him by 5 centimeters. Some of the kids thought that it was GREAT that Cody finally beat the grasshopper and couldn't wait to tell Pat so...I was sooo hurt and angry. I tried to explain to Pat that that is what the games were all about. Sometimes you win, sometimes it is just not your day and you don't . That is just how it is...and I was so proud of him cause he beat his old record by 5 centimeters. And that Cody did do great and it was just his day today. So the grasshopper had a little set back but he'll always be the grasshopper, and his friends and family will always be sooo proud of him! DEE

Congrats to the Grasshopper, and to Wyatt and Cole!! Yay!!
Dee, kids nowadays are horrible. But hopefully Pat can keep his head held up high and not let them get to him. I know how it is to not be the 'popular' one, and it hurts when other kids tease you and make you feel left out...but as he gets older, those things will change.
