Oh lord..was just running around doing errands and BOOM I see Amy Fisher signing her new book at a local Book store here! LOL..on LI..funny cos last time I saw her was in 1992 one nite at NY's Paramount theatre at Cher's show but she had then left due to the commotion it caused..I used to see Joey Buttafucco all the time..what a jerk! He used to own a car shop near our bagel place where I live! Noone used to pay him any mind! Literally! ..We actually get a lot of other signings here..I see Peter Bogdanovich who directed my alltime favorite..MASK is doing one in NY I think the 15th they said..he did another one earlier this wk I think too..and Tatum Oneal has one soon as well as Tommy Lee and well for the oldies like me remember Duran Duran ? LOL..they'll have one I know this wk ahead..  On Bert's b'day I think..they gonna be playing for u man? |

Actually her I saw at LI shop but yes in manhattan we get a lot..frank and I saw Tim Robbins not too long ago just walking the street in front of Tower..and when I worked in Manhattan used to see a lot of em..saw Julia Roberts once..Jerry Seinfeld (very nice! as a matter of fact my friend's hubby who is a NY firefighter said he brought cookies to firehouse after 9/11 ordeal..so down to earth)..we also have met Lauper ..Clooney..once before she died my mom and I saw Jackie Onasis even..we see a lot here! U should come on down! u are so close! |

I know so happy cos bert and steph never met Di yet but see her all over the boards! LOL..yes def come it's $20 from PA..even if just for the day it's not bad from u at all:) Pop in the whole walkman & JUST DO IT:) I got no more time at work this yr anyways and can't miss anytime mid wk anyways..it's gonna be a saturday:) I know we'll see u before in Nov too:)

So sick of them, was like a media circus during all of that and now with her new book out, they are dredging up all of this crap again!!
Yeah, N.Y. is cool and you never know who you may meet and on any given day.
I've met, in N.Y.
Cher, of course (at some of Her signings - Right Jan)
Courtney Cox and the guy from the Counting Crows (I forget his name) in Central Park
Lucy Arnez(sp?)
Karen Black - who actually taped her appearence on a T.V. show in my cousins apartment in the Bronx. Paid him $2,000 and gave him a signed script.
Rosie O'Donnell
Over the years, I've forgotten all that I've 'met' and just happened to bump into.
But living where I do on L.I. I am about an hour and a half from N.Y.C. and in the opposite direction I am about an hour and a half from the Hamptons.
During the summer you can catch a lot of celebs in the Hamptons.
There I've met
Jerry Seinfeld - just walking along
Kim Bassinger & Alec(yum)Baldwin - they closed an entire store in order for them to shop alone in.
*I was actually annoyed that I could not get in the store and do my own shopping and they, of course, would not say who was in there.
Wasn't until their limo pulled up and they ran out, that I discovered why the store was 'closed' and for who.
Barbara Walters - she gave me a magazine that still had her address label printed on it.
She was eating in a restaurant and reading her mag and when she was finished she was about to throw the mag out and offered it to me instead.
It was Archetectual(sp?) Digest.
Other than L.I. not being a very Cher Friendly place,
it is a cool place to live and grow up on.
To the west is N.Y.C.
East is the Hamptons
South are great Beaches
North Shore has a lot of hills and expensive homes, Billy Joels sister lives somewhere on the North Shore.
It's easy to get anywhere.
Trains to N.Y.C.
Ferries to Connecticut
Buses to N.J. (Atlantic City)
A lot of people always go 'away' for vacation.
I say see what you have right here around you.
Take a drive Upstate, you know that sort of thing.
I know a lot of N.Y.ers who have never seen the Statue of Liberty!!??!! Go figure.
Wow, Thank God that this is under the 'Just Talking' folders, cause I really went off there for a bit.

The funniest was when my friend (LI one)Karen and I met Julia Roberts here in NY..now she's one of my alltime favorites ( I know Deb u don't like her??? How could u not like Julia! She rocks!)anyways..so we finally met her one day in the Village and u got it..I was afraid of her d**n dog! Was huge! LOL..so we screamed from across the street and my friggin friend was like my friend's afraid of ur dog! LOL..I was ready to die! LOL..she gave us big smile and waved! My ex boss in NYC saw her once on the subway even! How down to earth is she? LOL..my other co worker I used to work with in NY just spotted Paul Newman the other day..I have to say amongst the nicest I met (other than Cher of course)was def. Jerry Seinfeld.....so nice! and New year's own D Clark was really nice..we met him at a restaurant uptown once..and of course I Dream Of Jeannie's Barbara Eden..what a doll..one of the nicest most down to earth ppl I have ever met in my life! What a sweetie and she looks great..isn't she like 70 now! LOL...and my uncle Jeff was real lucky he met Sly Stallone when he used to work at FAO toys on 5th Ave. He was buying like a 6 ft stuffed animal! I wish I was there that day! he said he was the absolute nicest! I nearly killed my uncle for not getting me an autograph that day! LOL..and about 2 wks ago my NY friend Michelle ran into Kate Hudson coming out of a nail salon..BTW Di see raising helen? So good! I know u loved Providence show..told ya! Great right? def one of the best! oops but that's a CHER thread! LOL..Jan

Loved that Providence DVD Janet...IT ROCKED! Better than the DVD that is being sold in stores! This one..it has the "real magic"...ya know? She was in such a great, great mood! Awww u will definitely find something Megen..u got lots to offer some lucky employer out there! Job market is really bad..I know I have my BA in communications/broadcasting too but could not get foot in door ..that's how I got STUCK in boring insurance the last ga zillion yrs..but it's a job! Maybe temp until u find something..it leads to permanent a lot!!!!! Did u try cablevision? They're pretty big u know..look on their website maybe! It's a foot in the door! And FREE cable! |
