Did anyone watch this?
I went to see a play with a friend last night and then had a bad drive home (long story) so I missed most of it.
I thought I didn't care, but then I saw like the last ten minutes and remembered how much I love watching the tv and film awards shows...
I saw Meryl Streep win for Angels in America. I just love love love her. And I've been totally wanting to see Angels in America but I've never really had HBO so I haven't seen it. I think it's out on DVD though (?) so maybe (hopefully) I can rent it.
I saw Arrested Development win, which I've also never seen - is it any good?
And I know the Amazing Race won for competitive reality show (yay!) and Sarah Jessica Parker for Sex and the City (which I've also never seen).
But that's about it - anyone else or anything else win that any of you guys had been hoping for?

I loved Meryl's acceptance speech!!! That was way funny when she said that Emma Thompson was gonna hold a grudge... I was so glad she won, and I'm glad that ANGELS IN AMERICA swept all the awards in the "Miniseries" category.
I was also really happy for "Arrested Development" -- it's a great show, and was glad that it swept all the comedy categories (best series, best writing, best directing)... and James Spader was a surprise win for "The Practice," although I don't know if he deserved to win since I don't watch that show... but I like him, so I'm glad he won... He's been one of my favorite actors ever since he made his debut playing Brooke Shields' older brother in one of my favorite movies, ENDLESS LOVE...
And was very happy that "The Amazing Race" won the Best Reality Competition award again this year!

I loved Meryl's acceptance speech too, Dann. Especially the part where she was like, "There are some days when I, too, think I'm over-rated....But today isn't one of them!" I can't wait to see "Angels in America" I've heard so much good things about it.
