I know there are 4,100 seats at Caesar's Palace but I'm moving it up to make up for any signatures that were rejected. Whatever our number signatures are, it is not accurate. When I rejected a signature, the number is still going up which is not right and I contacted petitiononline.com support team. They never answered, I emailed them twice but they never answered.
So I'm going to push the number of signatures up to 4,200. I reject signatures when I figure out that someone has signed it more than once, because of duplicates, spam, people putting in characters, question marks, or dots because they're required to post comments and they don't want to so they end up messing around in the comments field so I have to reject them.
I'm sorry about that and I realize it's frustrating and I wish I didn't have to do that. To help make the number accurate and prevent signature rejections, please help by doing the following:
1. If you already signed the petition, you're done. Please do not sign again... unless you are signing for someoene else who cannot do it (maybe they're too ill or unable to type or read). I can tell sometimes when someone signed more than once because I notice a pattern. Someone repeatedly in a row only a first name, does not post city, state or country where they are from and their comments are pretty similar. However, I could be wrong and maybe they really are different people who do not post where they are from and post only first name etc... I can't be too sure but I can suspect it by the pattern.
What may help is I notice in some signatures, one person said she/he plans on going and is bringing her husband, or 4 people or even 12 people! So instead of having only you sign it, why not let your 12 friends sign them as well! That'll bring the number of signatures up faster AND maybe the signatures will be valid.
2. Do not post spam
3. Read carefully what the petition is for. It is for Cher to do Vegas at Caesar's in '08. One person thought it was a petition to get Cher's record label to release the final show at the Hollywood Bowl on DVD and made a comment about it. Honest mistake but that would still be rejected if something like that happened.
4. You are required to post comments. Do not put in various characters, dots, question marks or anything ridiculous because you do not want to post comments. Please be serious if you are signing the petition. People post characters, dots or question marks because they have to put in something in the comments field and they don't want to. Signatures with comments like "huh," "meh," "whatever" or asking questions about the petition itself like, "when did this start?" will be rejected. Email me if you have questions, don't put them in the comment fields please. Obviously, if you don't like Cher or you do not want her to do it, please do not post comments about not wanting her to do it or hating her. We are going for her to do Vegas, not against it.
5. I realize it was probably an accident but be careful not to "duplicate" your signatures, making your name, comments, and where you are from exactly the same. Maybe that happened when you clicked the post button too many times or your signature didn't show up so you thought you had to go back and press the post button again. If it doesn't show up in a few minutes or so, be patient and wait a while. If it still does not show up, contact me and I will look into the problem and contact petitiononline support team if I need to.
Don't get mad at the post button by beating to death, clicking it so many times!
Please help us prevent signature rejections by following those above and we should be fine. Thanks.
