Alexandria: I saw U2 on their "Joshua Tree" tour... Me and a bunch of friends camped out all night to get tickets the night before they went on sale, but they sold so dang fast, we ended up getting tickets BEHIND the stage... But, it was still a great concert and I've always wanted to go see them in concert again... Hopefully next time, I'll get better seats...

C'mon, Lisa, you can do it! I believe! I believe! I believe! I believe! I believe! It looks like some of you are all just a little bit younger than me (that's OK, we Cher fans come in all ages), so at the risk of dating myself, here are a few artists I'd like to see who are touring now. I'm really sticking my neck out here, though, 'cause it makes me look like I'm old enough to be eligible for Social Security (laugh if you must, but please don't call me an old geezer!): Cher, Bette Midler (actually saw her a few years ago - great show), Pat Benatar (not touring, though), Cher, Phil Collins (been a Genesis/Collins fan since the late '70s. He's a great drummer!), maybe Eric Clapton, definitely The Who (sigh, feeling a little older now), and Cher. We were joking around here the other night about wanting to see The Who and saying our hearing probably wouldn't survive a rock and roll concert like that, but then I said that whole entire Who show couldn't be any louder than the version of "Bang Bang" Cher did (I loved that). ;D

Hey Deb, You think you're old??!! Betcha I'm older! Hint: I was 15 in 1965 and have idolized Cher all my life. But age is just a number - and I've never hung around with people my age. They're just sooo boring........ Been a "wild child" all my life, I see no reason to stop now!!! I much prefer younger men.......much younger - like up to 21 years younger......like Cher........LOL They call me "the 50 year old teenager" at work. I never thought at my age I'd be dancing, screaming, and partying my *ss off at Cher concerts, but I had the greatest time!!! Nothing beats a Cher concert - I need more "Chergasms"...........LOL Yvette The SunnyD Queen "LIFE IS NOT A JOURNEY TO THE GRAVE WITH THE INTENTION OF ARRIVING SAFELY.. IN A PRETTY AND WELL PRESERVED BODY, BUT RATHER TO SKID IN BROADSIDE, THOROUGHLY USED UP, TOTALLY WORN OUT, AND LOUDLY PROCLAIMING: "HOLY S**T....WHAT A RIDE !!!"

Well, add me to the list of "older" Cher fans. I am sooo old that often I forget how old I am!!!... But I have to agree with you Yvette in that age is just a number! So who really cares! I also hang with the younger girls at work (my adopted daughters I call them) and I can party and dance with the best of them!!! I love the who and I saw them in concert way back in the 70's (right after that tragic stampedee, remember? or am I really dating myself!). I have been a Cher fan since I was about 10 and let me see.... I think I am 47 now??? DEE

LOL....I have had younger fans tell me they did not know Cher had a perfume let alone that she was on broadway! LOL:) Fossil grandma Cher fan in NY! Jan

You're all right, age is just a number. Deep down I know that; most of the time I don't feel anywhere near the 43 years old that I am. Actually, people don't believe me when I tell them my age, they think I'm much younger (boy, I hope that continues until I'm about 100! ;D). It's just sometimes when I'm watching an awards show or in Tower Records, or listening to the radio, I keep asking, "Who are these people?" Know what I mean? But the upside to being the age I am is that for about the last 10 years or so, I've re-introduced my mother to a lot of the music I grew up with (except for Cher and Sonny & Cher; she already loves them). I just think it's very cool that my mom really enjoys music by Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Fleetwood Mac, The Stones, The Grateful Dead, etc. She's always asking me about "that song that goes like this," or "who was that group you used to listen to as a kid..." Very, very cool. Thanks for the support, everybody, from someone from an (ahem) "older" generation. Music is a wonderful way to connect with people, no matter when you were born, right? Jan..The Who, three times and Phil Collins in the fall? You're soooo lucky! Keep saving those pennies, though, you gotta believe!!! Yvette - been a longtime Cher fan myself, we should all form a club (but I think we've already done that here . I was five in 1965 and discovered Sonny & Cher around 1968-1969. Yup, the '60s was a great time to, should I say, explore (?), I pretty much kept everything under lock and key until I hit my early 20s -- and I just kinda exploded there for a while. I think I thought that I had a lot of catching up to do (lol). Not nearly as wild and crazy now, but no wallflower, either! (lol..."Chergasms!" I need some, too!) Dee - I remember The Who concert you mentioned (see, I wrote that and I didn't even flinch. I'm feeling better already!) I also work with many younger men and women, and believe it or not, it never even crosses my mind ever during the day that these "kids" were born after I graduated from high school. We all do things together after work as a group, have a great time, and I think it's great. Keep on dancing, girl!!! OK, it looks like I'm in a rambling kind of mood tonight, but just one more thing. Still believeing, Lisa? Have a good night! Debbie

LOL.. each day is getting better for me to Believe, LOL.. Let's see age, lol.. Well I really don't hang out with anyone my own age, except my one friend but she can't really get out, kids, kids, LOL.. All my friends are older than me and I like older men, always have.. I made some nice pals on here that are quite younger than me.. ;D OK, so I'm 33 and loved Cher since I was 10 yrs old.. I'm not young, old, I'm in between, LOL.. And still get carded every darn time, LOL, yes that's true.. Age differences never bothered me at all.. If you have things in common and get along great, that's all that counts..

Hey Lisa, We used to have to card anyone who looked like they could be under 30 - now that's up to 40. One of the young bartenders I work with got set up in a "sting" by the cops - she ended up paying a fine for a first offense, and that's a felony. I card everyone I don't know. College kids need TWO forms of ID or we don't let them stay. It's a scary business to be in, lemme tell ya!!!
I remember carding people and saying that I graduated from High School when they were born, now I see the birth date and I say that I was divorced before they were born!!! Been a full-time bartender since 1987 - time really flies!!!
I know times have really changed, but growing up in the 60's, 70's and 80's was incredible. We watched Cher grow up, and music has evolved so much. We had no color TV, no VCR's, computers, cell phones - none of the stuff the younger generation take for granted. What a journey.......Amazing......
Amazing that we are all here - all ages - one big "Cher" family - thanks to one very special woman. What an effect she's had on our lives!! "You got to have friends..............." Yvette
" Dance and sing and raise your glass, and drink to the GOOD TIMES, and hope, my friends, that they last.........."

OOOHH Susan, positive is what I need right now plus some sleep, LOL.. Swear I should have a night shift job.. By the way Susan, I did some searching for the First Union Arena in Wilkes Barre, do you know if they changed over to Wachovia Arena now? Can't find anything on the First Union anymore, I remember you used to email them like me..

Yes, I remember calling them once because I think Pollstar had the date listed as the First Union Arena (Which would have been Wilkes-Barre) and Ticketmaster was listing the First Union Center (Which would have been Philadelphia). I called the one in Wilkes-Barre and said "what's the name of your venue?" and "Where are you located?" and then I said "and you have a Cher concert scheduled, right?" Then, so the lady didn't think I was losing my mind, I explained that a major ticket website was claiming the show was in Philly, and I wanted to verify it was really in Wilkes-Barre. Susan

OK, well I think they changed over now.. The one in Philly is called Wachovia too and the street address is the same as it was before.. We need to know these things, just in case.. ;D Do you think that's good Jan, the radio station wouldn't make that up, would they? OH boy, hope something soon works out here.. Susan, if it comes to Wilkes Barre, we must get there.. You will love it there, hope things didn't change because of the takeover.. Oh and for the Wachovia, it is saying Casey Plaza and that's the name that the First Union Arena had..
