I have butterflies in my stomach, and more energy than I know what to do with. This is bad, I get wound up when someone elseTEXT goes to a Cher concert.
Oh, I need a fix badly!
It's almost 8 p.m.; something should be happening up there by now. Woo hoo! Hope all of you have a great time!

(((((((((((((((((Michael!!!!))))))))))))))))))))) Thank you so much for calling during the concert.... That was just so sweet of you, and I loved hearing "All Or Nothing"!!!!! And thanks Jan for picking that song... you know how much I love it!! I also loved talking to you on your drive home after the concert... it was great hearing all about the concert, and it sounds like Cher was having a great time... I'm so glad she put back "Love Hurts," and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get to hear it next Tuesday at the concert in Toledo. Thanks again -- you are just a total sweetheart, and because of you, I'm gonna quit smoking too... If you can do it, I know that I can too... My sister is coming to visit me this Friday, and she's a smoker too, so I think I'm gonna wait until she leaves next Monday before I quit... but I'm gonna do it! I've been smoking for over half my life now, and like Barbra and Donna say, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"!! It's such a filthy, gross, and expensive habit, and I'm just sick of it... Anyways, enough about me rambling on about my awful habit, but I just wanted to let you know that you have really inspired me to quit, and I'm gonna do it! Hope you get home safe and sound, and thank you again for everything... YOU ROCK!!

WOW. So much to say and so little time! I'll at least get it started and I know the others will be in here to add their recollections of one of the best Cher shows we all have ever seen her do. From the time she set foot on that stage, she cased the joint visually, saw so many of her diehards out in the audience, waved to all of us and then proceeded to pour her heart and soul into the performance.... she added "Love Hurts" with the "Love Hurts" costume, and let me tell you, I'd have paid the price of the ticket just to hear that one song! It was SOOOO beautiful!!! She added some great banter, to a little boy in the audience by the name of Michael, who was holding up a sign asking Cher to give him his first kiss: after "Walking in Memphis" she says, "Now I have an announcement to make... there's someone in the arena tonight whose name is Michael." MY HEART STOPPED. Then she looks me dead in the eye with a smile and says, "He's 14..." Nope, not me! LOL!! But she did get him up on the stage for his kiss, and I had the thrill of knowing that, for a moment, Cher looked directly at me after using my name. Holy crap!!!! She gave it all she had as did the rest of the troupe... it was sooo infernally hot in there! She was visibly wiped out at the end and the dancers were DRENCHED but everyone up there had a smile a mile wide after the show.... the energy in the crowd was amazing and we all danced all night in the first few rows. She got about 12 hats during IICTBT, looked at mine twice that I tossed up at her feet with a quick glance up at me then picked someone else's! My hat and a few others got collected and brought backstage. I saw her get Jan's flowers! I saw her point and wave and laugh at Yvette and Alexandria sooo many times!!! When she saw the "Bubba Rocks" sign she pointed and laughed, and as she turned to walk across the stage and Bubba was walking in her direction, I saw Cher and Bubba make eye contact and Cher smiled and motioned with her head toward the sign, like "Go say hi to your fan club!" It was sooo cool, a great moment in a show filled with them. There was so much eye contact, she was so engaged and "there" with us. The guy in front of us turned around at one point and said, "She LOVES you guys! She keeps pointing and looking at you!" I love when that happens, it's like "Oh good, I'm not "Cherlucinating"! At the end of the "Believe" she made it her business to visually seek out all the diehards and make very deliberate eye contact and wave or handsign to each of us individually... very touching, very Cher! So much more to say but I'll let others fill in the blanks. We finally got Jan to a Cher concert in New England! I don't know if we'll release her to go back to NY, though, we may just keep her! The Cher connections were so much fun to do!!! She was singing and looking right at the cellphone a few times, I thought that was so funny! Dann, it was GREAT to talk to you last night! Congrats on your decision, it is a demon of an addiction... I have tried to quit soooo many times and here we are again! Two words for you: NICOTINE PATCH. It's the only way for me! I'm down to Step 2 now and it feels really good to get through an entire concert and not be dying for a cigarette toward the end of it! Email me anytime if I can help you out at all! Can't wait to read the rest of NE's posts here! Ericka, Yvette, how'd those pics come out???

Well, I’ve still got the morning afterglow…. =) don’t ya just with you could go through life having this CHER HIGH all the time? Lol.. that would be nice!! Last night made up for all the bad and negative feelings I was feeling at Mohegan!!! Providence did kick tremendous ass!!!!!!!!!!! She was unbelievable!!!!!! Before the show I think I was nervous, because of what happened with the people between me at Mohegan, and the crowd really being horrible, but once that wind starts, it just TAKES OVER!!! Last night was my 8th time seeing her, and til this day, I still get butterflies when she comes down from that chandelier. When she first came out, Yvette had her CHER KICKS ASS sign out, and she walked over and pointed at it and smiled!! She was very friendly and playful with the audience, much more then Mohegan!! Maybe because the crowd wasn’t DEAD like Mohegan… She talked soooo much more, and ladies, she said that The Notebook is her favorite movie, so everyone has to go and see it!! Lol I’ve seen it- it’s a tearjerker!!! I was expecting right after Take me Home, for her to jump into the After All segment, but then… new music started playing, and I didn’t know what was going on!!! LOVE HURTS!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL. That was such a great present!! My first time hearing her sing it live!!!!!!! She did it beautifully! Mohegan she didn’t really make much eye contact, or wave as much at people as she did Providence, and I didn’t get a wave at Mohegan, but last night I did!! It was during “All I really want to do”, and she came over to my section (right on the side), and I was the first one to stand up, and I was jumping doing the I love you sign, and she sort of imitated me, doing what I was doing, and gave it to me back….. ugh I swear, when she takes time for even ONE second to look you in the eye, I swear it just makes my world.. for oneeeeee split second, it’s just you and her, looking at eachother!! Ahhhhhh gonna get me all wound up- again!! LOL. It was cute when she brought the little kid on stage, I’ve never seen her bring anyone on stage before. Jan- Im so glad you joined the NE crew for a show!!! That means you have to come every time she comes around here!! Lol, hopefully there will be more!! Now, Its time to go back to reality..lol time to go home now!! I don’t have a computer, so don’t know when I can post again LOL.. I hope everyone that I gave a Cher connection to, got it okay!!!! IT ISNT OVER YET… I DON’T FEEL IT!!! LOL..

WOW considering the show was only last nite it's amazing this thread has over 100 views already! Well my 1st time in Providence KICKED INCREDIBLE MAJOR ass!!!!!! (BTW Dee lovvvve the bracelets u made Alex and Yvette!)..Like my stepdaughter said...I could totally be on this Cher high 24/7 and literally watch Ms Cherilyn sing day in and day out morning noon and nite and then some! LOL..2 high points I really loved (other than the center 1st row:) Woo hoo....was I thought Cher did one of her BEST BEST BEST most incredible versions of Walking in Memphis! It just R O C K E D! I have seen her do it many times lives ..but for some reason this time it ROCKED more than ever..Michael agreed..she really hit it extra energy good towards the end..Also lovvvvvvvved when the little 14 YO boy was called onstage by Cher..that R O C K E D !!!!!!!! Well we did not get lost thanks to the girls stopping traffic in the middle of a FOUR lane BUSY rushhour highway in Providence..they got out of their car and waved frantically when Trudy and I were hanging out the window singing turn back time! LOL:) Gotta love the DIEhards! LOL:) Providence looks like real nice city! Def would love to come back here w/Stef Bert and Frank..I thought Love Hurts was phenomenal! I have heard her do this before..this was incredible..great outfit too! Unfortunately did not bring my camera cos we were not sure if they were allowed in..I later regretted it when the SECURITY guards Had ppl taking their OWN pics as they're NOT allowed as employees to do on their own!!!!!!!! Show was just incredible..was my 1st since Toronto since I had to miss my (2) Iowa ones recently..R O C K E D seeing my good buddies Alex, Yvette, Ericka and Michael and nice meeting my new buddies Trudy Tristan and Crystal (thanks Ginger for showing me another DIEhard..and from LI yet! Bert u have to meet her!!!!!! She is a sweetie! Her little one is so cute too.. ...Just one last thing I have to mention..we went to Cheesecake Factory for lunch yesterday and "later at arena" in the bathroom we met friend of our waitress who told us Cher and her crew ordered $1000.00 of Cheesecake Factory goodies back to the hotel! Out of all the places to eat in Providence I thought that was too funny..the waitresses friend laughed as well..she was like her entire diehard table was just here..dolls and all:) ...megen u would have been proud of Ericka and Michael..I know how Bert and I forgot our dolls at lunch in NYC! LOL:) Well...off to Binghamton.... CHER KICKS ASS IN PROVIDENCE! Jan

Gotta run off to work, but I'll post later. In the meantime, I picked up the Providence Journal, and the review ticked me off so I printed it out so the others can see this. You can see it at www.projo.comReview: Cher's Farewell Tour returns to Providence 01:00 AM EDT on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 BY RICK MASSIMOJournal Pop Music Writer PROVIDENCE -- With the star of the show lowered from the ceiling, dancers hanging on ropes, and a fake elephant, Cher's never-ending Farewell Tour rolled into the Dunkin' Donuts Center with a mix of spectacle, pop-culture history and nearly 40 years of hit music. After the opener, a cover of U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," Cher let the audience know that the end really was near -- if she were to come back yet again (her farewell tour hit Providence in 2002), "I'd be in one of those scooter things for old people. Mine would be covered in rhinestones." She flashed plenty of wit and likability in her patter. "When you sway like this," she demonstrated, "it makes you more sincere." After a mention of up-and-coming divas such as Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson drew boos, she added, "I don't like them either." And after addressing them again with a hearty "Follow this, you [expletives]," the "Cher-est show on earth" was on. Over the 90-minute show, Cher ranged from her '60s and '70s solo pop to her recent hits as a dance-club queen, such as "All or Nothing" and "Believe." Unfortunately, too much time was given over to her less-fortunate arena-rock period, where her vocal talent gets less room to roam. "I Found Someone" and "If I Could Turn Back Time" should've gotten the medley treatment, rather than the early hits such as "Half Breed," "Dark Lady" and "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves." A bizarre cover of "Love Hurts" was incongruous: Cher sang it as though she were in a piano bar while her band blasted away. A disclaimer: I wouldn't bet the rent money that Cher sang the whole show live. I also wouldn't bet the rent money that it was totally lip-synched. But either way, she's got the vocal chops (and the sense of humor) to make her genre-jumping feel as though she's moving from strength to strength, rather than desperate. There was a costume (and wig) change for nearly every song, and the intervals were filled with dance numbers and video histories of various phases of Cher's career: her days with Sonny Bono, of course; her movies; and various silly TV variety-show appearances. After awhile, however, it started to feel as though we were looking at everything but the star of the show. A little more stand-and-sing and a little less multimedia would go a long way. Not that suggestions matter. She's not coming back. Right?

Boy sure wish I had been at that show!!! Jan, aren't you happy that you did go!!! I knew that you would love it once you were there with all the die-hards!!! Grandma happy that you are back ok? (But now are you heading off to the NY show? Did I hear?)So happy that you got to go to this show, I know that it killed you to miss the others so I guess if you make one this sounded like the one to make! (maybe Cher did this just for you, think? ) Lisa, are you and Jan meeting at the NY show now? Hope you have a great time!!! Hope Cher also Rocks NY!!! Jan, thanks about the bracelets; like I said, I do still have yours here. Just have to get my a** in gear and get it sent out to ya! Alex, can't say enough to thank you for my FIRST Cher connection!!! It was sooo cool, wish I hadn't lost contact! Would have loved to hear her sing Love hurts!! I couldn't believe when my phone actually rang, my heart stopped and I thought God this is way cool! I was thrilled to death to be there with you all through the connection! So happy to hear that everyone got to get together and "Cher" the moments! Sounds like providence is the place to go for a concert!! She will just have to come again!!! Right!!!! Yvette, I have to agree with you that I did not like the review at all. How can they say she lip synced? You can hear her out of breath at times when she sings and when she misses the words? Some people just have to be negative no matter what! Michael, speaking of reviews yours was excellent! So exciting to hear how Cher made such contact with the die-hards that were there! You guys are really some of the best die-hard fans and you deserve it! Well everyone who was there last night, Rock ON with the Cher High! and for those of you going to concerts Have a fab time!!!!! Hey guys! Great job with the reviews, Michael, Alexandria and Jan! I knew if I waited long enough I wouldn't have to type so much!!!!!!! LMAO You guys are GOOD!!! After Mohegan, this Prov show was incredible! Getting to hear 'Love Hurts' with the new costume was the frosting on the Cher cake!!! ;D And when it came to sitting on the stool and belting out "Walking in Memphis", she kicked some serious A$$. THAT VOICE is such an incredible gift! It was SO powerful, she sounded fantastic. If this is my last show, I can now say my last one was a GREAT a$$kicking show, and best of all - it was in "L'il Ole Rhode Island". I'm so glad Jan was able to join us! The traffic jam on 95 came in handy so we could give the New Yorkers a personal escort to their hotel. The crowd was ALIVE - you could just tell - it made such a difference. Cher must have thought the Mohegan crowd to be "UNWORTHY" of Love Hurts!!! LOL After she got off the chandelier, she started walking towards our side, and I held up her CHER KICKS A$$ sign and she saw it and laughed, pointing at us and giving the ILY sign. Wonder if she saw us during intermission when we were on the jumbotron? The people in our section were saying "get us on screen"!!! There was some new footage on the screens, SOY was included in the movies. Rosemary - glad that you hung around with us while Tommy was on stage. That's when we met Rick - I had told him to look for 3 or 4 people wearing the 2002 Montage shirt! Renee - so great to see you again and glad you hung around with us too! Wish Cher would come back to Wista - nothing beats the Irish Times before a show! But we partied well - a couple of trips to the parking garage and my 'bar' in the back of my SUV - LOL - can't believe we walked all over Prov Place Mall and downtown with our drinks!! (Blue Storm, formerly known as Windex) Thanks, Michael ! You really know how to take care of us 'bad girls'! So now life calms down, back to reality - or does it? What are we all buying for ourselves as a Christmas gift? (Mohegan?) Will we have another round of "Here we go again" Time will tell.......... Yvette Most people walk in and out of your life......but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart

Hey Yvette, those Blue Storms are yummy! I kept taking sips from your cup in Jan's hotel room, ask Alex! ;D You bad girls aren't all bad, I know. But you sure know how to party! And I totally agree, Y... if I never see her live again... the memory of Providence 8/30 would be a GREAT "LAST SHOW" to have in mind as long as I have a mind. ...but I dunno, I'm with Alex. It doesn't feel over! mjf
