Hi everybody! This is my first try at being back online since becoming sick... so I thought I`d drop in on you and give you my own personal update. First off I want to say THANK YOU for all of the prayers, phone calls, well wishes, cards and Cher gifts!!! I can`t say how much they all have ment to me or convay what the Cher community that I have been a part of for so long... has especially ment to me as an extended family outside of my surroundings. Being a Cher fan has almost always been a positive thing in my life and came to my aid in unknowing ways when I needed Cher in some fashion in the past, and now more then ever. So guys are a part of that and I THANK YOU. I live day to day now, moment to moment, and right now... today... I am doing good. I`ve been in and out of the hospital but I`m home now and have been for several days. I`ve had 2 blood transfusions and white count shots to get my low white count up after my first round of kemo. They have you wear a mask if you have to go anywhere when it is that low and anyone with a cold or anything near me at those times must wear one especially. My count was as low as a 2 and now that it is 11 I don`t have to use the mask now. If it drops again after my next round of kemo (which is Tuesday, Wed. & Friday of this next week)... then I`ll have to wear it again until it`s up again. BUT... I am STILL going to Cher`s concert Aug. 4th though, mask or no mask or if I need pushed in a wheel chair for lack of energy! I can`t miss her in my own hometown and it is the only thing I have to actually look forward to right now. See? Cher comes to my aid again. Perfect timing for a show here Cher! To the over-all powers that be... THANK YOU. Meds come in all forms. Well, 2 days ago was a hard day. I lost my hair. Most of you know that I have always had long blond hair down to my waist, so this was hard for me. I saved 2 pigtails of it but that was it. Caps are now a part of my future and Cher is part of that as well, along with cool looking biker do rags that I like a lot. Bount one on a whim once a few years back (has white skulls with red fire on black) but little did I know I was really going to need this one day. Glad I kept it. But ya know what`s coolest though? A couple of Cher friends contacted this lady on the net who sells scarfs, caps and do rag type things and she made me one with Cher`s name all over it, white on black just like I wanted! She`s rushing it here so I can have it by show time and thanks girls for getting this for me! Well, I`m not sure what else to tell you all except my treatment continues and I`ll keep you post if I can myself, if not... one of my friends will. I have yet to have another scan to see if the tumor is shrinking or not, so we`ll see in the next few weeks I guess. Thanks again for everything... and please keep the positive prayers coming, as I appreciate every single one! Pam

Pam - It is wonderful to hear from you. Just keep taking everything one day at a time, as you've been doing, and leave the rest for another day. I am so, so glad to hear you're still planning to get to the concert. I can't think of any better medicine than seeing Cher!
I wish I could do something to help with the side effects from the chemo, the hair loss, etc., but I'll keep sending you healing, happy thoughts from over here on the east coast. Try to keep a positive attitude about everything if you can, I know that helps.
Thanks for letting us know how you've been, and remember: Always believe, keep focusing on that concert, and keep fighting!
Debbie

PAM!!! Welcome Back Online! Glad to hear you are going to the concert! ;D I've been thinking a lot about you. I have been wanting to call you again, but last week was a week of working late again and I didn't know if you had been keeping any "night owl" hours. I know the concert will be tons of positive energy, but we will all keep sending ours too! Sending positive thoughts your way... Susan:)

Hi Pam! So glad to see you back on the board! ;D I don't think I could say it any better than Debbie just did, but I want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you And biker do rags are cool - I want to get one too, cuz when you take a motorcycle helmet off there goes the hairdo. LOL Do you have a Farewell tour bandanna? The black one? Let me know if you don't, and I'll send you one. I know I put it somewhere........hopefully I'll find it. I was looking for it the other day! I heard you got the poster in the mail - Jan told me soon as you rec'd it!!! So glad to hear you are planning on going to the concert on 8/4. Hey - if you go in a wheelchair, would you get a closer seat to the stage? Working at the Elks Lodge here in town, I know that anyone who wants to borrow a wheelchair or crutches or anything like that can just go to the Elks and borrow one for as long as they need it. They just sign a form saying they will return it, and there's no charge. I don't know where your seats are for the show, but hey - I'd do it if I could get up front!!! Hope you enjoy the show, Pam, I'll be working that nite and thinking of you! Yvette

Pam, So glad to see you back on the boards. Great to hear that you are thinking positive and still planning on going to the show!!! Have to agree with Yvette on the wheelchair, may be good to get down in front, and you may need to rest during the show. Heard you are decorating that Mask? With your talent I know it would be great!!! You go girl and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Take "Cher" DEE

Just me again guys! I appreciate what you`ve posted here so thanks again. I have had another fairly good day so I thought I`d get online a bit again while I still feel like it before kemo tomorrow. Not sure what that will bring. Treatments are 3 hours each so I`m packing some Cher CD`s to listen to to kill the time at the "kemo room". My friend Yvonne will come with me too and stay until she is called into work possibly, so that will help too. We are allowed to bring one person each on treatment days and there is about 12-14 chairs available for kemo at a time. So far nobody my age, they are all much older, but they are all nice. Hey Yvette! As a matter of fact... no, I actually don`t have the black Cher tour scarf you mentioned in your post, so yes.... I`m very interested, thank you! You think those are long enough to wear like I need to or I could have it sewed into the shape of a a doo rag? I can try maybe. They are rather cool looking (lucky for me!) and both for men and women. Too bad we aren`t at the start of the tour again with new merchandise, this would be a great Cher item, the next in caps! I wore my Believe baret to the Doctors office and it was a big hit with 2 of the nurses and when I was in the hospital my friend Diana suggested I bring up my picture with Cher for my room, to "Cher up" the room a little bit so I did. I needed cheering and the Doc and nurses got a kick out of it too. Is that really Cher?! One nurse drug another one in just to see it and they love Cher! They are going to the show too they said. So it was nice I was being treated by some people who also likes Cher. There is a Cher after party happening too that night so if I`m upto going for a bit I really want to take it in. I`ll have to play it by ear. It`ll be a long night and I`ll do what I can. Pam

Pam, I did not know you were sick. I haven't been on this site for awhile. I will pray for you that you get through this time in your life. I am glad you are going to another concert, seeing Cher will be better medicine than any treatments. Take care of yourself. Dorothy

Hi Pam! I'm looking for the Farewell bandanna - think I need my daughter to help me look!!! Alexandria!!! HELP!!! I can't find anything in this dump! But I know for SURE I have an extra one - where I put them is another thing. This happens all the time to me. I am very organized at work - at home it's a different matter. Being domestic is NOT my forte. Never was - never will be, I can assure you!! ;D I'll keep looking for ya!! Hope your chemo treatment goes better this time. Take Care, Yvette Yvette's idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance. A house becomes a home when you can write "I love you" on the furniture.

Please Take "Cher", and thanks for the updates. I will continue to keep you in my prayers. And yes a Cher bandana do-rag sounds great to me!!! I just know you can ripe something up!! dee

Hi Pam!!
I was just about to come on here and say how happy I was to read your post the other day (I've been kind of busy lately so haven't been here in a couple days) and here I find you've posted again! ;D It really is so good to hear from you and to hear that your spirits are up and that you're going to your Cher concert!
This pales in comparison to what you're going through, but I get migraines and I know sometimes when I have a really bad one I'll put Cher on and stick my headphones in and lay down - and she helps! Her voice is just so soothing. So I totally know where you're coming from, bringing Cher cds and your pic with you to treatments - she is such great medicine I tell you! And so cool to hear that the people taking care of you love Cher too...
You're in my thoughts an prayers as always and I can't wait to hear how your Cher concert experience goes!!
lots of love
