Hehe. Yes, I really did break my nose. No, I wasn't drunk when it happened. I was walking back from pep band rehearsal in the dark and tripped over a curb and fell face-flat on to pavement. Luckily none of my teeth were broken. But, my nose wasn't so lucky. I got ahold of my sister (who doesn't live too far from where I go to college) so she came over and brought me to the hospital. We were there from 10 PM until after 1 AM. They gave me vicodin, and had to have xrays done. Fun fun. Turns out my nose is broken in two spots. My face looks pretty banged up...if it was closer to Halloween, I'd be all set, wouldn't even have to dress up to look gruesome! Well, got to get some stuff together. My mom is coming up to bring me home for the weekend. They are worried about me and want me home, even though I tired telling them I"d be fine. Anyway, just thought I'd share the news with you. Julie

Sorry to hear this! Hope you feel better real soon Julie! And yes I agree, take a flashlight with you! I don't like to carry one, but they really are a good idea when it gets dark so early in the evening. The only other advice I can offer? Do NOT catch a cold! Feel better soon! Susan

Awww. Thanks guys! Your replies made me smile, which in turn made my nose hurt a bit. But that's ok. Well worth it. Haha, Tim & Susan. My mom and grandma both told me I need to bring a flashlight with me. Guess that's not a bad idea...I don't want to visit the hospital again any time soon! And, it's funny, Susan, that you mentioned not to catch a cold...hehe...because my mom said the same! Ugh, I have had a hard time not to sneeze....I don't want to because I know that won't be fun. Thanks Birdy! You're the best!! Really, everyone...this chick is awesome! She showed up yesterday with a cute teddy bear with a huge nose (haha, yes, on purpose), a balloon tied to his arm, and a card. :-) That made me feel a lot better! Got to run, or ah, walk..hehe...I have to call one of my friends back. Julie

Thanks Joanne. Tomorrow I'll attempt to get some of my homework done. *sigh* The one thing about college that is never ending! My mom gave me one of my Christmas presents early... it's two dogs (one white, one black) on a checkered pillow, and when you press the button on the corner, they sing "I've Got You Babe". It's so cute! It's not really Sonny and Cher singing, but it's not bad and still really adorable. My mom also said she has seen skeletons dressed up that sing "I've Got You Babe" at one of the grocery stores that has some Halloween stuff. She said they have a lot of them so she's going to keep an eye out and maybe wait until after Halloween when they mark their stuff down. Julie

Thanks Lisa. Off to take a shower and then do homework. I've been lounging around ever since I got up...enjoying the little time that I have before going back up to school tonight. I'm kinda worried about what people will say about me when they see me in my classes, etc. It's rather embarrassing, but there's no way to hide any of it unfortunately. Julie

OMG Julie I am soooo sorry, hope that your nose is doing a little better. Good thing your sister was available to help you out....a flashlight is a def must for christmas!!! And stay away from the late night walking on campus anyway. (there I go sounding like a mom again). Sure do hope that you are feeling better soon. DEE

Haha. Thanks Dee. I had tons of people asking me today what I had done, so I ended up telling my story over and over again. Haha...most told me I should just joke with people and say I was drunk or that I got in a fight with someone. I don't typically walk in the dark on campus if I can help it, but unfortunately my pep band rehearsals on Thursday nights are from 7-9 PM. So, there isn't much chocie there. I'm taking it as a credit, so technically it's a class, just later at night than any other classes. Haha...I have learned my lesson and will pay better attention to where I am walking next time, and will also start carrying a flashlight with me, even if it does mean one more thing to have to carry around...it's well worth it! Julie
