Congrats Di! (And Deb for getting to go)! I really wanted to go to one of his concerts but the non scalper tickets sold out in seconds. A nice, talented guy who is a vegetarian - The perfect man. Yes, I'm swooning at the moment!

You're very welcome, Di & Jan, and thanks for the congrats, too, Susan. I'm sorry I couldn't make more connections than I did - there was a time or two when I couldn't get a signal at all. I got so drawn into the whole show (once it finally got started), I just had to put the phone back in my purse and go with the flow. McCartney place for three hours, covering everything from The Beatles to Wings to his solo work, he was amazing! I'll write more in the next few days (if anyone wants to hear about it), but I can give you a few details now. First, Paul really chats to the audience a lot - and I mean A LOT! He told us the guitar he used last night to sing "Blackbird" was the same one he used during The Beatles' first performance on The Ed Sullivan Show - what a hoot! There was a good mix in the crowd, too, but not like a Cher concert - to me, it seemed the ages ranged from anyone who was alive in the mid-1960s and up, very few children or younger people. But don't worry, we of the "older generation" did one heck of a job letting McCartney know how much we appreciated him! The largest (read that "loudest") crowd responses came when he sang "Magical Mystery Tour," which he opened with, "Blackbird," "Hey Jude," "Jets," and "Back in the USSR;" and I'm not exaggerating when I say there must have been between 25 and 30 songs on the set list. The sweetest moment came when - in the middle of talking to us - he asked for a moment of silence for John, George, and Linda - then he just took a few steps away from the mike and stood there. The "silence" he asked for came in the most thunderous, loudest, longest standing ovation/cheering/screaming/clapping I've seen in a very long time. Needless to say, I'm a little hoarse today..... To anyone who has the opportunity to see this tour, I say, "Just do it!" Debbie

I wanted to call someone....anyone....during "Blackbird," but I couldn't tear my eyes away from the stage at that point. Talk about being awed and amazed!
I remembered another song Paul did that brought the house down big time - "Baby You Can Drive My Car," which was the second song he sang. Beep-beep, beep-beep, YEAH!!!!!!!!
Lisa, we got to get you to NY some time soon - if you can make it for the book signing, do it. Jan's not kidding - the place is about a block from the bus station - piece of cake!
Debbie
