Just wanted to say that today is probably the last time I will get to be online for two weeks. We don't own a lap top and we are off to Hawai tomorrow at 5:30 am. I am sooo excited, this will be our first trip there. Matt, myself, two sisters (one from Wyoming that I never get to see) and two brother-n-laws are all going together. Should be a crazy time! Thanks Di, for all the info you have given me and I have your number programed in my "new" phone (yes, guys I actually have a phone now!) and perhaps I'll give you a Hawai commection! Sorry Jan, would love to take you in my suitcase but I am having a hard time now getting everything in! We are spending one week im Maui and one week in Kauai with two days in Honolulu to see pearl harbor. Have a few sights we are planning to see, but if anyone here has any ideas or must sees let me know, I will probably check on here one more time later tonight. Boy, have waited for this for sooo long that it is hard to believe it is finally here (been planning this before the California final tour trip!) Not looking forward to the long flight but I have lots of Cher cds to listen to. Well, aloha everyone! and Talk with you more later! I sure will miss this site, and will be pretty busy catching up when I get back. (unless I can talk Matt into letting me sneak on line in the room, if they have it! )

Thanks everyone! Well, I am back now and it was absolutely to die for!!!! OMG I so want to go back!!!! Been home for a few days now, but it took me a while to get caught up and than it was off to work again. Boy my first day back was a day from hell! But enough about work...on with the trip! Have to say that Maui was my favorite! It was so nice with the wind and surf. We stayed at Kannapali shores so we had a real nice beach and beautiful hotel! We did so much on Maui, we went on a sunset dinner cruise, which was real romantic. We did lots of shopping on front street which was real close to our hotel. Did the snorkle at Molokini but the trip was sooo bad. Because of the hurricanes in Texas and the tropical storms out our way the waves were bigger than they had seen them in 20 years. Good for the surfers who were everywhere! But not so good for a snorkle boat tour! They had closed the tour for 3 days and opened it the day we went...should have kept it closed! We ended up leaving Molokini because it was too wavey so we sailed over to Coral gardens which was ALOT SMOOTHER! We did manage a nice snorkle...OMG the fish were incredible! Took the road to Hana which is an experience in itself! Many hairpin curves and one lane bridges...but the waterfalls and gardens you see are so worth it! Went to the 7 sacred pools right past Hana and did lots of swimming in under the falls. Also visited the garden of eden and the boys must have tasted EVERY fruit growing on the trees...guess guys never learn! Went to Oahua for Pearl harbor, it was nice but very somber. The oil still coming up really made it hit home. Also on Oahua we went to the Polynisian culture center...def a must if you ever go! They demonstrate the cultures of many of the poly islands and they have a Laua, and two different shows! It was faboulous but def wear sun screen ...it is outside all day! I forgot and I was fryed! There are so many beautiful beaches on Maui...not sure if we made them all..we did try! I def would go back in a heart beat! Yeah, Jan we will have to make the trip someday! DEE
Part two coming up....Kauai

Kauai What can I say about Kauai....It wasn't very good to me this trip! I started by loosing my "bible book"....my tour book that I had spent DAYS marking up with everywhere we wanted to go! Left it sitting on the bench at the Alamo car place...sucked out loud! Our condo was nice but not great, it was the Kihunna Plantations in Poipu. It had no air conditioning (only ceiling fans) which would have been ok if not for the crazy weather that they had that week....87 with 90% humidity! They also had a bad bug problem! The lay out of the grounds were odd...the beach was a walk away and the pool was across the street! Just really weird! By the end of the week it was so hot and muggy (Michigan word for humid!) that I was ALMOST (only almost) ready to leave! Even the waitresses were complaining...there are alot of resturants open air and no air conditioning! We did do a helicopter tour (air Kauai) which was to die for! The Caynon and falls were gorgeous! It was pricey but soooo worth it! If you don't do anything else do this! We drove to Wailua falls and they were REALLY NICE, and a pretty easy drive compared to Hana! Did the Princeville Laua and it was good, had Hanalei bay in the background...the best sunset on the island! Didn't see Puff anyway though! Matt was really into taking the sunrises and sunsets, and have to admit he got some wonderful pictures! Couldn't believe how the Mai tais were flowing that night, glad we had a D and D! It was real nice. Tried to find Cher's house but they had a few gated drives and it could have been any of them. Went to the National Botanical gardens and that was really beautiful. The plants and flowers were lovely. I picked out the island that I want to buy! They filmed Gilligans island, Fantasy Island, and Magnum PI all there! May be a bit pricey but think I can swing it! LOL! It rained a lot the last few days, which made it hard to do many of the beaches but we tried. The snorkling on Poipu beach was fantastic! I could not believe how many fish and how big. Had a few that were all over me...my sister said it was because I had on fishhooks for earings...forgot to take them off!!! LOL! Also had a mother and baby (10 days old) on Poipu beach right up form our condo! That was awesome. Saw a few critters while in Kauai...4 deer, 3 turtles, 2 pheasants, roosters (darn noisey things!), chickens everywhere!, and a few gegkos We had a helicopter crash 4 days after we did ours (not same company) killed three on board. They hit rain and high winds...they crashed near the state beach on Na Pali shore, shortly after we had left it. Glad I did not have to see that! Feel so bad for the families. Tried to do Kipu falls with a rope swing and ladder but it had rained to much and I ended up falling on the "red dirt" and wrecked my Kakai shorts. I threw them away twice and both times my sister talked me out of ditching them. (I actually took them out of the garbage!) The day before we left I was all packed and ready to go and could not find my ID any where! Great, I was in a panic, I was going to end up with my hut in Hawaii after all! Turned out that it was in these pants pocket....All I could do was thank my older sister and God, that I did not throw them out!!! I kept saying that I would never do Kauai again but I am sure I will be back just in a different hotel! And at a cooler time! Well, that is about it thanks for listening and just have to say that next to Cher's last show with Cher buds this was the best vacation I had! DEE
