What a treasure I found today! Matt, Pat and myself went on a mini vacation to the upper pennisula in Michigan this weekend and on the way home we stopped in Mount pleasant again. (I had went there during the special olympic state games and found some old Cher/Sonny and Cher lps for dirty cheap) We stopped in the same record store to pick up some plastic sleves for some of my albums and we found all kinds of cher 45's! I bought about 15 of them for only $23! Most of the are in execellent condition and some even have their original sleaves! Some of them I never knew she put out on 45's...like alfie, way of love, I saw a man, magic in the air...etc.. There were a few old ones written and produced by Sonny which I had never heard before..see see blues and where do you go? There are a few that say they are not for sale but for promotional use only and they are stereo on one side and mono on the other, were these used for radio play? I was so happy that we found so many and like I said in such good condition! Again I have to say that I love Cher surprises!
Also in a small shop up north I found an Amy Brown fairy shirt that said "Believe" Amy Brown draws a lot of different fairies and she does one that said believe on it and it was so great that I could actually find it on a tee-shirt, had to buy that right up! DEE

Congrats on finding such cool Cher items, Dee... I love finding old Cher 45s, especially ones with picture sleeves... And yes, you're correct, if the single says "for promotional use only", that means it was sent to radio DJs for airplay, and was not available to buy in stores... So that is really cool that you found some of them, because they are a lot harder to find than the regular singles... The only thing is that most "promotional" singles just have one song on them, but the single that was in stores had the single on the A-side and another song on the B-side. Congrats again on finding those "treasures" for your collection.

Hey Janet, that whole week I have my friend's sons here from Florida. I really need to get to one of those NY get togethers, they sound like fun. One day Janet, I promise. Thanks for thinking of me.
