OMG!! This is awful...just read a little bit online. They said they caught it early though...same with my friend. They caught hers early too...now get this!! Her breast implant saved her life...it kept most of the cancer in one area...and it didn't spread to the nodes...Unbelievable...now I was sooo glad to hear about that news!! One good thing said about an implant...huh??

That's so sad...she's a really talented musician and seems like a great person. Glad they caught it early though - hopefully things will turn out fine in the end for her...

Thanks for letting us know. I love a lot of her music, and for the past few years I have paid more attention to her in the media & etc., and started to become a fan, especially after seeing her on Oprah after she had gotten 'married'. I think she is a positive role model for a lot of people, or atleast she has been for me.
Breast cancer sucks, but hopefully it was caught early enough so that everything will go in her favor. Several women in my family have passed away due to breast cancer...it is very scary.

Just a note in case you didn't know - there's a web site that I go to every day for the month of October - www.thebreastcancersite.com. Click on "Fund free Mammograms" and a woman will get a free mammogram. They haven't reached 500 yet, so start clicking!!!!!!! ;D I click more than once a day - hehehe .......... Thanks to this program I get my free mammo every year - I don't have health insurance that covers it, and a local hospital offers free mammos every October. They train Brown University Med students, so if you don't mind a couple of students besides the doctor, it saves you hundreds of dollars for a complete screening!!! October isn't over - if you haven't had it done yet, look into FREE screenings!!!! JUST DO IT!!! Yvette

I just read that even with all that has been going on with M.E. that her plans with ABC are still going forward and that she has started taping her new sitcom.
I forget the name of the show, but it's sorta like a backwards "Will & Grace" M.E. plays a Lesbian School Teacher and leaves with her very Straight male best friend.
