I was reading a news paper at work and found this.
Comedian Caroline Reid is set to support cher when the singer visits the UK for her "Farewell Tour".
Caroline, who played sell out shows at London's Soho Theatre at Christmas and is currently treading the boards in New York's packed theatres, will support the star at some stage during the UK tour.
Details of the support shows are still sketchy, but Reid said she is "amazed and thrilled" at the slot.

I just checked with Sheffield Arena, and there is definitely a commediene on as the support for Cher. I think it's a character called Pam Ann - something to do with an air hostess. (kind of a weird choice for a concert, don't you think?) But if Cher's asked her to be there, i guess she must be kinda funny. Guess we'll find out soon! (10 days to go!!! WOO HOO!) Michelle xx

I never heard of her.. I really didn't care for any of the comedians at the shows I saw but I'm really not into that sort of thing.. Cyndi was awesome though, I'm glad I got to catch her show, it was cool..

Lisa, I really missed Cyndi too in 2003. I got to see Cyndi 5 times in 2002, even got up close and on the jumbotron in Providence RI with Miss Cyndi. She has sooo much energy, and she was AWESOME!!! I want to see her concert, but she is playing the same night I am seeing Prince. I saw 8 more shows in 2003 with the comedians - after you see it once, that's it! Not funny after the first time. Not really THAT funny the first time around, either. That ended up being walk-around time, meeting up with other fans and buying more Cher 'stuff'..... The intermission was more fun than the warm up!!! Yvette Growing older is Mandatory, Growing up is Optional.

Yvette, I got to see Cyndi twice, the first time we were late plus up too high, so I missed some of it but the second time, it was awesome!!!! She came down right in front of me and sang Shine, looked right at me.. My friend next to me kept pushing me closer and closer to her, I went right into the guys next to me, lmao.. If I would have put my hand out she could have shook it but I was nervous, lmao.. I missed Cyndi's concert in Wilkes Barre, I really wanted to go too, now I don't think she will be back to PA I was at Philly twice, that's where I saw her with Cher and when she did True Colors, omg I shed tears, that was so special how she did that song, it was great!! Oh How I Love The Memories... Yes Yvette, the intermission was more fun, I couldn't even sit through the whole first act.. I walked around, bought stuff and hung upstairs, met some people too.. I was alone a few of the times but I didn't mind at all, I still had a blast!!!! ;D

I personally did not care for the comedians opening for Cher. You are there to dance and get into the music and with comedians you just sit and listen. And I have to agree that they weren't very funny. My husband (Matt) is a BIG Cyndi fan!!! He fell in love with her when we saw Cher during the Believe tour and Matt has followed her since. That made it nice for us to see concerts because he got to see Cyndi and I got to see Cher... It was great!!! We have seen her numerous times and once she performed at a book store here in Michigan. She did a few songs from her Shine cd and signed autographs after. They got way more people than they expected but Cyndi said she would not leave until she had signed something for everyone! It was kind of scarey though because that night was Cher's concert and she was opening for her!!!! She must have flown to the auditorum that night!!! Anyway, I hope all enjoy the European shows no matter who opens for Cher!!!! DEE ;D

I feel like Cher doesn't even NEED an openning act... She's enough for me!! Cyndi Lauper was DEFINITELY Cher's BEST openner!!! She's incredible! I would LOVE to see Cyndi live again. Is she doing tours right now? Does anyone know? She WAS INCREDIBLE. Dom just didn't do it for me. After he embarressed me during his act last year, I was just kinda freaked out... then I saw him in the parker lot later after the show and he told me he wanted to be my health teacher. I mean, how old is he? Yikes. How's Tommy doing? Anyone know? Did openning for Cher totally boost his career? I haven't heard anything about him since. I'll be honest, Cyndi CRUSHED Cher's other openners, no competition. There's just something about having a musical act before a show. It just gets you pumped up and ready for Cher. Well, not like just knowing that you'll be seeing Cher isn't enough, but seriously, it's TORTURE sitting through a comedic act when you're waiting to see the One and Only. Do you guys remember Lou Begga, that one hit wonder that openned for Cher during the Believe Tour? *A little bit of Monica in my life* All of his dancers in thongs... Just plain FRIGHTENING. Cher is the ONLY one who belongs in a thong during one of her concerts, haha...

Cyndi is currently touring in the US. Her tour is absolutely phenomenal. You must go see her if you can. There is info on her website. I would die if I could ever see Cher and Cyndi together again. Let's pray for her victory lap in the US.....

LOL..But I must say each and every show I thoroughly enjoyed Lauper's performances...she's all over NY and NJ this summer.>I know frank lucked out w/7th row I just can't swing it now..but I know it'll be a blast!
