A friend of mine just sent me an e-mail to let me know that THE VERY BEST OF CHER fell off of "The Billboard 200" album chart last week... It spent a total of 51 weeks on the chart... Too bad that it didn't spend at least one more week so that it would've made it to one full year on the chart... It was sooooo close. If only the sales of the Deluxe Edition (with the LIVE CD) were included with the sales of the single disc version, then maybe it would've charted for a week or two longer... But, 51 weeks is very cool!!
And, despite what you may have read elsewhere, THE VERY BEST OF CHER did not spend "several weeks at the top of The Billboard 200"... But, it did make it to #4, making it Cher's highest-charting solo album of her career (tied with BELIEVE, which also peaked at #4), and it has been certified DOUBLE PLATINUM!!

Wow, 51 weeks is really great! On top of their being several versions of TVBOC, there is also the fact that this is not the first "best of" recording she has done. Double Platinum...Excellent! Thanks for the info! Susan:)
