To Dee and others that asked about reasonable NY hotels under $250 a nite around holidays..Newsday had whole article about it in today's paper..I guess w/tons of tourists in and all..these are the so called "affordable" alternatives for a Big Apple Stay per the article..NOTE: The bigger hotels that charge a lot ppl I know get em for $99 and up a nite but during NON Holiday PEAK season though..but for during holiday times the paper recommends these: Cosmopolitan Hotel Tribeca on W Broadway Chelsea Lodge Suites on W 20th DaVinci hotel on W 56th 414 Inn on W 46th Hotel Bedford on E 40th Hotel Edison on W 47th Hotel 41 on W 41st Hotel Newton on Broadway Hotel St James on W 45th Hotel Stanford on W 32nd The Mayfair was pretty reasonable during Xmas on W49th..had rooms nice in size for $130 (for Xmas in NY very reasonable..so wonder what they are NON Peak holiday times) And the Milburn on W 76th
I was surprised..never heard of these w/exception of Mayfair and Stanford ones..all in pretty good NY locations too near everything..Also note: many hotels u now accrue points..ex: Holiday Inn and many others where after a certain amt of stays u get free nites..something to look into for outta state tourists..thought I'd Cher:)
