I know there is already another thread relating to this topic, but it looks like Gaby & I are going to be pinch-hitting for Jan next weekend (go easy on us, please!)
No one can hold a candle to Jan's expertise of New York City, but I thought it might be a good idea to try and get an approximate head count, so here goes: Who's planning on joining us?
I'll be there Saturday. Lisa, I know you're planning on coming, too, as are Gaby and Kristi. Are you still in, Di? That's all I know so far!

Don't count me out yet guys...my back is trashed..but trying to be on the mend...looks like it's going to be on the mend for months to come though!! Got three discs gone..and one bulging right now in the nerve. They want to FUSE them all and do surgery...they always want to do surgery..so I'm seeing a Chircopractor now. Surgery IS NOT AN OPTION HERE! Got to lift my baby..ya know? But Am in so much pain right now...so wish me luck!! I eat the pain all the time...but guys this last one plus the other three...has really knocked me on my BIG SORRY BUTT!!  ..will post soon...gonna crash... Miss you guys! Di |

Di, so sorry to hear about your back. I know just having a backache can be a royal pain, can't imagine having ruptured discs. Hope the chiroprater can help. Surgery is a real bummer to have. Keep us posted, please! DEE |

We're going to kick off the day with a meal at one of Cher's favorite places: Serendipity III, the address is 225 E. 60th Street. Wherever you are coming from (a hotel, the bus station, the train station, etc.), plan to meet there between 10:30 & 10:45, so we can get into the restaurant without having to wait hours on line.
Gaby & I are S L O W L Y trying to put together a few ideas for Saturday afternoon, but after lunch, we can figure out which places we'd like to visit. Gaby had a great idea about taking double-decker bus tour, which will hit on the highlights of the city; we'll do some research on it over the next few days and get back to you about it.

No, I haven't been to NY yet Kris.. I know I will be in awe of everything.. I was wondering about the bus tour, that's only if that's decided what to do, does it stop to take pics and things? I will have my camera ready and hopefully I will have my new Cher totebag that I got off ebay, looks cool and can't wait to show you guys..  |

Im not completely sure if it stops for pics... but we can get on and off at different spots and lookaround and take pics and do stuff then just get back on whenever we like all day if Im not mistaken. I could be wrong but thats how I understood it. Looks like a fun way to see alot of things! Cant wait to see yer totebag. Sounds really cute. I think im making a cher shirt to wear that day. I might! Well Im off... going back out! talk to everyone soon!

You've gotta have some of the chicken with that Frrozen Hot Chocolate, too, it's delicious! Gaby forwarded the bus link to me, so I can check it out, too.

Have the hot dog, Kristi, you can "sample" my chicken. The portions there are really big (as you already know), so there's plenty to go around!
Yes, the bus tour looks like fun, and it does look like we can get on/off whenever we want, which would work well if we see some place we'd like to visit longer. They also give you a map/schedule of pickup/dropoff points, too, and that will come in very handy.
Great to see you back here, Di, looks like the meds are doing the trick! Have a good time tonight, really hope to see you next Saturday!

The bus tours all look to be pretty flexible in terms of spending time where you'd like along the way, so that shouldn't be a prob. We're just trying to decide which one to take. It sounds like we can pick one up around the Times Square area instead of pre-purchasing our tickets online. That'll work out better since we don't yet have a definite number as to who all is going. So, Kristi, you're going for the ft. long hot dog again? I think I'll only be able to get down the Frozzzen Hot Chocolate. Those things are massive! Di, sorry to hear about your back. If you can't make this one, I'm sure there will be many more to come. |

I can't go either.. My dad was admitted to the hospital this morning with his heart, dunno what's gonna happen there plus my mom is home alone and is an epileptic, she has been falling quite often and she don't wanna stay with me.. It is crazy!!! Swear there is a black cloud surrounding us.. Have fun who all goes and will see you hopefully next time.. |

Hope ur dad feels better soon Lisa..man so many I know incl myself having such a rough summer so far..my former co worker I used to work w/in Manhattan I just found out died..cervical cancer:( She was the nicest..she was in total remission too for almost 7 yrs too but then it came back and spread throughout:( Man u never know..and gotta live each day man! Hope everything that's been rough turns around for everyone
