I didn't see the show...I'm not too much into the popular music scene of today so I doubted anybody I was really into would have been nominated. I did hear that there were a few cool performances though, including one by Melissa Etheridge who sported her bald head from her chemo treatments...I would have liked to have seen her performance, I've always liked her and her music and I think that's really awesome how strong she's been through her cancer. Any other highlights I missed?

I only saw parts of it, but did catch some of Melissa Etheridge singing. She ROCKED!!!! I'm not a huge fan of hers, although I like some of her music, but she really gave everyone a heck of a performance. It takes a lot of guts to tackle a Janis Joplin song, and Melissa definitely did right by it. It was good to see her looking so strong and healthy, given all she's been through in the last six months or so.

Yeah...seeing Melissa made watching the Grammys worth it! I was very proud of her for not being ashamed to strut out on that stage and give it her all in fron of tons of people! I think she's setting a good example for others and I am glad to see that she didn't wear a wig. I have always liked her music...well, I'm not familiar with all of it, but I have a few songs I really like. And for me, she is somewhat of a role model for personal reasons.... I really don't remember too much else from last night. Loretta Lynn won a grammy, and my mom was exicted about that. I agree with Megen...I'm not big for today's music, and I really didn't find the Grammys all that interesting. I like a little bit of everything, but throw in those oldies and I'm all set to rock!

I watched the whole show and I have to say that It was one of the BEST Grammy shows I have ever seen. Di, don't think either of your songs won..but they really did not annouce a lot of the winners...they mostly had performances. The opening act with Gwen Stefani, Eve, Black Eyed Peas, etc was really very good. Jamie Fox and Alicia Keys "Georgia on my mind" was real nice..didn't realize that Jamie Fox could sing so well. Green Day's song (American Idiot) was ok for heavy rock. But I felt that one of the best was Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, and Gretchen Wilson (Pat's favorite) teamed up with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Dickey Betts...I am not usually a Country fan..but I Love Skynyrd. They were all really rockin and getting into it! The VERY BEST OF ALL though was Melissa and Joss...Melissa really did Joplin great!!! It was great to see her soo full of life and jammin totally bald headed! The worst ones for me were...U2 (just was not a very good song..they seemed off), Lopez and Anthony duet..They did the whole song in Spanish...I WASN'T impressed at all. The very worst...was the all-star rendition of "Across the universe" (the beatles)...It was so off key it was terrible. They should have had Cyndi join them, she was shown in the audience MANY times! Matt LOVED IT!! Anyway, it really was a good show...Not a lot of rap this year...which is good for me..I can listen to some but after a while it gets on my nerves. That's Dee's review...a thumbs up!
