Well I have been giving this some thought but I just never stick to anything.. First I need to stay away from these a$$hole men in Schuylkill County, they all lie and are users, which is prob. everywhere but this place must be the worst.. Swear I must have "loser lover" on my forehead, always seem to fall for something but no more of that!!!

None for me I guess. Call me stupid, but I don't really think New Year's Resolutions ever really amount to much...or, they don't for me.
I would like to lose some weight, but I always am saying that. I did lose a little during the summer when I signed up for a gym membership.... I did watch what I was eating somewhat, but I didn't totally limit myself because I knew in order for it to work for me I needed to get used to exercising first and then work on watching what I was eating. I won't say that my weight actually changed, but I did go down a pant size and seemed to become somewhat 'fit'. LOL. But, then with school starting back up and my membership expiring, I stopped going to the gym. I actually miss not going, so I am going to sign up again when I have more time in my schedule and start making improvements. (Jan, I totally understand what you are saying about it being hard to find time to exercise when you are so busy!!)
So, no...I'm not setting a New Year's resolution per say, but I do have some goals I would like to reach by the end of 2005...weight being the thing highest on my list! ;D
Julie
P.S.- Goodluck to all of you that do set resolutions...I hope they work out for you!

I want to fit back into the jeans I wore to the MSG shows. I need to start Yoga again, and meditate even for a few minutes a day. Oh, plus I forgot. This year is the year I need to become a successful Daytrader, remember? Susan:)

I'm with y'all on the weight-loss; that's mine, too. My size 6 fat-jeans are turning into a tight squeeze and that's a major red flag considering I'm not any taller... So I'm blessed that winter's started and I'm hiding in fluffy coats till Winter Formal in Feb. and then trying to get my stomach flattened all the way by summer. I had to skip swimsuit season on account of said un-flat stomach last year. But I'm saying all this with the full knowledge that I'll be good and eat salads and do crunches for, like, a week, and then I'll be back to being myself again. Oh well. Happy new year!

Haha.... yes, Susan...I remember about you wanting to become a Daytrader.... may you have the best of luck!!! Lisa, I must also figure out about that "very" last date, too. Need to keep filling that ol' jar of mine. Looking a bit sparse, but maybe the New Year will bring wealth with it. Hehe. Well, we can all dream I suppose. All I know is, if I ever were to hit it real big, I would be spreading the joy to all of you. No kidding, either...I would ofcourse give a little to all of my family and my best friend, but I would also give some to all of you. Guess I better get busy with those scratch tickets and Megabucks tickets. I sure wish I could win with the Powerball...man I would be flyin' high then! Julie P.S.- Ash, sorry girl but I sure wish I was wearing a size 6. Goodluck Jan, Susan, Ash, Lisa, and Joanne. Joanne, if you get a book published let me know! I'll be first in line to buy one. My sister just finished her student teaching and is now applying for a full time teaching position for elementary level and loves Children's books.

The idea of "new year's resolutions" never works for me, I guess because everyone always talks about how no one ever does them, so I already feel like I've failed before I've tried.
But I have TONS of things I really want/need to do this year, I just want to make them managable goals, hopefully things I can do and actually acheive.
I was reading that Travel Girl magazine that Cher's in *reminds me I have to write the editor...* and she said something that she's said before about how if you want to exercise you should use the buddy system so that if one person doesn't feel like doing it, the other one can motivate them.
So this got me thinking, and I think I might start up a yahoo group or some other group if someone suggests another avenue, where anyone here who wants motivation on completing their goals can join. It would be the type of thing where you only have to "cher" as much as you want but you can talk about your goals, tell everyone how you're doing with them etc etc etc. Like if there's something you want to do everyday, like drink 8 glasses of water, you can get on at the end of the day and say, "I drank 8 today!" or "I only drank 6..." blah blah blah, that's just an example. And if you feel like you're slipping or whatever, everyone else can motivate you. I was thinking this might be especially good for those of us trying to eat better, fit into smaller clothes etc.
Did any of that make any sense? I hope so... Good idea? Not a good idea?
Let me know what you all think!

The Buddy System ROCKS MEGAN!! Great idea. You should see the health club I belong to right now. OMG!! PACKED TO THE HILT!! LOL...that will die down in a MONTH! LMAO...I'm working out three days a week...and I love it! Wished I had a buddy to work out with. One good thing though. I get outta there after a little over an hour...with buddies...we tend to stay two! Drinking water is the best...man, that's tough though. I have to make myself. I'd prefer coffee and a diet pepsi anyday. But working out makes me drink it...so I bring two Evians...and down they go baby!! ;D

Megen, after reading 'travelgirl' and seeing Cher's comments about exercise, it got me to thinking, too, about actually taking things serious and renewing that membership of mine. Just as soon as things die down a little with school, I am going to march into that gym and renew my membership. Until I can do that, though, I am going to go back to eating somewhat healthier and etc. And, I think the yahoo group idea is a wonderful one! Let me know if you decide to do that....I'd be in for sure! And yes, it made sense!

I am a little late here seeing how it is the third week of Janurary but I too am doing the loose the weight thing. I REALLY HAVE TO! I am going to Hawaii in September with my sister who is about a size 5 if that! She is talking bikinis and I am talking moo-moos!! I really have to loose some weight so I can just feel better. I am doing a little compo of weight watchers and Richard Simmons diet and working out three times a week to our CHER and some Richard simmoms. Have to agree Di that water really is the key. Congrates to you Di.... keep up the great work! Joann, that is wonderful about your book, sure hope you can get some one to publish it. And put me on that list also. Ash, sure do wish that I was a size 6... I was a 5 everything when I got married. 5 ring, 5 dress size, 5 shoe, and 5 feet tall, boy has that changed!!! ..I am still 5 feet tall though!! Megan, the yahoo group sounds like a great idea. I love the buddy system and a group that supports each other would be great! Let me know if you get one up and running. DEE

Hey Guys...Thanks Lisa, Dee and Susan!! YOU GUYS ROCK!! I feel soooo much better MAN!!! Without the ole extra baggage!!! Cutting out on meals. Not eating as much if I do each two meals a day...less food on the old plate, if ya know what I mean. I prefer to eat one large meal a day. Dinner with the family. I'm drinking tons of Evian all day...and coffee...got to keep my energy up..and working out at Bally's Fitness Center. Doing the weights and cardio on the bike for 20 minutes. It's tough, gotta say that. I'm frickin' starving all the time!! EEK!..man it's hard! Love that food!! But hey, I won't be no size 5..never will be...but am really happy where I'm at. I'm in Juniors Clothes!! So...that's cool with me baby!! Good Luck Dee...YOU HANG IN THERE BABE!!
