 Awww...that really does suck, Megen. I don't have a Cher standup, but if I did and that had happened to me, I would have reacted the same way. Don't feel stupid at all for posting about this!! I am so sorry that Cher has a boo boo on her head. I am so picky about my Cher things that sometimes I think I'm stupid for worrying so much about them, but I think we all have a certain degree of protection about our Cher stuff because Cher is so important to us. ;-) So, when something bad happens, like with your Cher standup, it's upsetting. Ok, now that did not make an ounce of sense, so you probably should just ignore everything I say. Lol. But, yeah... I am really sorry and wish I could fix her for you! And, if you think you are stupid for being upset about a Cher standup, you would really think I am the one that is beyond stupid because I once got so upset over breaking the jewel case to one of my Cher CD's ...and it wasn't even rare; it was because I had just gotten it, and I like everything in my Cher collection to be nice...not broken). Anyhow, goodluck with the Oprah contest! I sure hope you win...that would be so totally awesome. Plus, look at it this way: If you win, you could tell all about your experience after making your tape, and maybe Oprah or Cher would give you a brand new standup...provided, ofcourse that they could conjure one, which I am pretty sure they could, no matter how rare it is. Oh that SUCKS!!!!!!! I had to unfortunately sell mine to help pay off shows..boy and I thought when a rare poster I had ripped when I was moving something in my room that was bad..but eek the standee..Maybe someday u will somehow someway come across another..At least u still have it..some ppl got none..but yea too bad was not lower and had to be the head part

Thanks Julie and Jan for your sympathy! You're totally right Julie about us caring so much about our Cher stuff because Cher herself means so much to us. I get upset if jewel cases of Cher cds get hurt too - so you're not stupid for that.  I felt stupid for being so upset about it the other night because my mom was having a really rough night - she has two herniated discs in her back and she was in a ton of pain. When Cher had her accident and I went upstairs angry at first (at my stupidity for "letting" her fall) I felt bad because I was upset over an object and my mom was in so much pain. But then I went back downstairs after returning Cher to my bedroom, and sat next to my mom on the sofa and said, "You know - I know this might sound kind of stupid but I'm really upset" and I started crying and my momma said, "No its not really stupid - of course you're upset." And my sisters (who aren't Cher fans mainly because they hear too much about her from me I think ) were there too and they were understanding too. My mom was like, "Just be happy it wasn't the real Cher" and then my sisters added on making a joke about what if poor Cher was walking down the sidewalk and tripped and fell and lost a chunk of her forehead on the pavement!? The embellishing they kept adding made me laugh through my tears and I felt a tiny bit better.  Then a Cher concert ad for her show in DC in a few days came on and they all were like "Check her forehead!" and that really made me laugh. I decided the reason why I care so much about my Cher stuff is that its not REALLY mine...it belongs to the world and I'm just temporarily taking care of it. Does that make any sense? Or sound really silly? Its like, maybe someday faaar into the future, long after even I'm in heaven or wherever...maybe someone might make a museum or something on Cher's legacy - they'll want the stuff they get in good condition and I owe it to Cher to take care of "her" things for her so they'll be nice for future generations. Is that really silly? I decided after Cher got her boo boo the other night that I really do think that way. Nuts aren't I? And I know what you mean Jan - I am still totally grateful I have her! I know some people don't and some people have had to pass her on...like you had to.  Even though the poor girl has a boo boo on her head I love her just the same! |

Forgot to say thanks Julie for your good luck with the Oprah contest. I am actually really pleased with how my video came out...I just hope I didn't send it in too late... Cause I'd been sick with what my mom thinks was pneumonia and I had no voice or energy for way too long. My mom even made me write that with a black sharpie in huge letters on the back of the envelope, "I WAS SICK FOR TWO WEEKS WITH PNEUMONIA AND NO VOICE...BUT I'M THE BIGGEST CHER FAN PLEASE CONSIDER ME!"  lol We'll see...but if it doesn't happen, it just wasn't mmeant to be and I still have a video of me gushing about Cher on camera and looking like a goofball to show for it! |

Great idea megen on your mom's part! She must know my mom here in NY cos day I saw Cher do her Uninhibited perfume unvieling here at MACYS 34th St I was JUST released (THAT morning)that year from the hospital after being in there for a wk w/pneumonia..I was younger and snuck out after my family had gone to work! LOL..I was like I can't miss that! LOL..eek when my mom got home from work I thought she was gonna literally KILL me and I'd be back in the hospital! LOL..I laugh about it now but eek at the time! LOL

No problem Megen. ;-) Sorry to hear about your mom...I think my grandma had herniated discs in her back, too. Aww...lol. My sister isn't a Cher fan, either...probably because I am so "obessessed" or so everyone tells me. Which reminds me that last night I was sitting at the kitchen table chattering away about Cher, and my mom was down the hall and said something like "Well, I can see that Julie's got the bug." and I was like, "Huh?" She said, "well, yeah. you know...the Cher bug. You've got it." Lol...I think she's crazy.  No, you do not sound silly or stupid at all!!!!! I actually can totally relate to what you are saying, because I have somewhat of the same mindset! I want to take care of everything Cher-related so some day someone else can hopefully enjoy it as much as I have. LOL. I love your mom's idea....that is cute, and hopefully will help draw attention to whoever looks through them. I wanted to enter, but I am afraid it is now too late. I didn't even have the creativity to think up an idea. I have a video camera, so that's not a problem...but I know I would never win anyways, so I will let some other lucky Cher fan have a stab at it.... I so hope you win so you can tell me all about it!! |

Julie. That's cool you have a video camera...you'd think I have one being a film/video major but nope! lol So my mom borrowed me one from one of the doctor's at her office. I doubt I'll win or anything but I had to try... Jan that is too funny about sneaking out to see Cher at Macy's! The lengths and extremes we go to for that girl... |

Ooh wish the doctor could have then let me and Bert borrow it! LOL..Oh Megen I think u got veryyyyyy great chance! Hope u get picked ! Bert and I wound up not doing it..only cos I dunno lately we will so much is fixed..Maybe cos we're from Metro area here and we see how tkts thing is..plus my Netherlands Cher bud and I submitted huge amts of stuff to Oprah yrs back before any of this was open and never heard anything? Hope all my Cherbuds get on ! I know Gaby submitted it too! And my good buddy Javier! |

OMG  I'd be soooooo upset too!!! I'm so sorry that happened. Since Cher likes bandanas and head wraps, maybe you should get her a pretty scarf to wrap around her head. Will that hide the boo boo? I've got a sailor hat on my standee. Gotta get her a Santa hat!!! Yvette |

I'll put a Santa hat on my standee and that'll take the place of a tree!!!! When it comes to my Cher stuff - no one can borrow it!! Nothing leaves this house!!! I'm sure there's a lot of others out there who are just as anal when it comes to their Cher shrines!! Yvette |
