I respect all people who vote and for whomever they vote for..but please people DO vote! I hear many say they don't know whom to vote for! It's real important..for my friends who know me personally I am a democrat and will be voting (as I know Megen)for Kerry this yr..but either way and for whomever u vote for it's really important! Did u guys see Fahreneit 9/11? Whoa..what a good movie! Not just cause I support the Kerry side but just overall a fantastic well done movie! I think cos I lost someone close to me in 9/11 I held off seeing it a while but after hearing the great reviews I finally said ok let me watch it..wow! Really well done and I commend the director for having the balls to do..VERY good..and an excellent time to put it in the stores now! Did anyone else see it? Again I support all who decide for whom they vote for but it's really important TO vote..many feel their opinion does not count or make a difference but it DOES! So ROCK the VOTE! jan

I agree with you 100% Jan... I too am a staunch (spelled right?) Democrat and will be voting for Kerry (as if you all couldn't tell by my banner... lol) and even though I don't agree with or really understand anyone voting for the other candidates, I respect their decision. Farenheit 9/11 is a great great film isn't it Jan? I just watched it for the second time with my mom last night. I recommend it to anyone who is undecided in this election especially, but to everyone in general. It's a real eye-opener and very well done. And like Jan said...PLEASE VOTE! It's so important. Remember 4 years ago? Every vote really does count. And remember, some countries don't have the same opportunity to do so - take advantage of what we are lucky to have. We have many problems in our country, it's true, but we are lucky to have so many things and our freedom to vote is one of them. If you don't vote you have no right to complain about your local or national leaders and what they are doing. Make a stand for what you believe in and vote on Nov 2. Thanks Jan for starting this. PS - When's Cher gonna start her Kerry campaign for this month? I've been anxiously waiting...but haven't heard anything... ?

Hey there Jan and Megan, you both on on the roll. No matter who u are going to vote for the most important thing is to VOTE Yes, everywhere I go I do ask people if they are going to VOTE and I still get alot of"NO, cause I don't like Bush or Kerry" or they don't know enough of either one of them-what a cop out-there still is plenty of time to get pamplets on both sides to make an intelligent vote(or so we hope). I am listed as an independant as I want to vote for who I like not because they are dem. or rep., but I have been voting dem. for the past 15 yrs and i will be voting for Kerry-stickers all over my car, shirt pins, poster on my lawn. Does anyone need a car sticker or a shirt pin? I will be glad to send one to u. I bought a package that gave me about 25 pins, 40 car stickers, hat, 4 posters, and flag for the car about 1 1/2 months ago. Back to getting to VOTE We are so spoiled here in the USA To VOTE is a priviledge, an honor, and a duty as a citizen of this wonderful FREE country. We should not forget about others that do not have this priviledge, freedom to even VOTE(let alone other things). Look at how long it took for women to even get the right to VOTE Alot of this country is not as patriotic as it used to be but I would think that 9-11 alone would have turned us back-I am a very patriotic person who comes from a patriotic family-flags were always flown, everyone voted as soon as eligible-before 9-11, just extra momentos and flags and remembrences after 9-11. Lets us NEVER FORGET 9-11-most of us here probably lost someone(even a distant friend) on 9-11. Let us make our president(who ever it may be from our vote) that we want our men back from Irag and let us use our forces to combat true terriosts-Bin Laden-and other who are on our shores right now-we need our men here too, not just in other countries. We are too thin with our military right now. OKAY- sorry i rambled, please forgive me. I think about 9-11 and Irag and I get furious- so please VOTE so we can make a difference(if possible, hopefully) GOD BLESS THE USA Trudy

Don't apologize for "rambling" Trudy! I myself "ramble" alll the time and if anything can get me heated and rambling, it's Bush and the choices he makes, the election 4 years ago and this year's election. I too get so furious when I think about all this. I did kind of like you did also with the Kerry garb - I bought a bag of 10 buttons online and have been giving them out. I also bought a "Teresa for First Lady" button because I very much like her.

Thank you so much Trudy for your compliment about my banner! It was a bit tricky to make but I'm so happy with how it turned out. And I agree so much about Teresa...and I think he and Kerry are just SUCH a cute couple! Did you see them on Dr. Phil? I initially wanted Kisinich (ok my room mate was in love with him and now I can't remember how to spell the man's name...) or Edwards to win in the primaries. So I was of course happy to find out that Kerry picked Edwards as his running mate. I didn't like Kerry as much in the primaries, but then again, I didn't know very much about him then either. After watching him in the debates and seeing him in interviews - he ROCKS! I'm so pleased with him. And about concerts... well, I wish I was going to more but my bank account isn't gonna let me I don't think. I am probably going to the NYC bash on the 11th though - will you be at that? Would love to meet you!

:)I am going to try to get to this NYC gathering, just trying to figure out what push cart I can put Krystle in. She is too big for a stroller and has a habit of dropping down on the ground when she feels like it. Maybe i will rent a wheelchair or something(i will have to take her if hubby is working) I surely do want to be with all the Cher fans that i have met and yet too meet.

Seeing as how I am too young to vote, I've been doing my best to get older people to vote. I'm even representing John Kerry in a mock-debate that my whole school is going to be watching. But I see that is not a problem here at the Cher board, so I will back off before I start screaming to nobody about how horribly Bush has screwed up the country.

In case you guys didn't hear today, Cheif Justice Rehnquist (I think I spelled his name right) is in the hospital today for throat cancer. His health problem should remind us all that whoever is elected on Nov. 2nd might have a good chance of appointing a new Supreme Court Justice.
The justices have lifetime positions, therefore whoever is appointed will have responsibility and be making decisions long after these next four years are over.
Ack! This election is even more important now...Make sure you vote!!
*hoping so much that Kerry wins...*

For me the choice is easy.... What Would Cher Do? hehheh
Seriously, the man who would change our Constitution to exclude me from life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, based on who I choose to love, is the man I want to vote out of office.
Watch Farenheit 9/11 EVERYONE!!

For me the choice is easy.... What Would Cher Do? hehheh It's true though! It means so much to me that she's so passionate about it too... And I completely agree with you Michael - I don't want anyone in office who's going to take away my right to choose and the right of so many of my friends to love who they love. I was watching Congress on CSPAN when the stupid "Marraige for Men and Women Only" (or whatever it was called) bill was being voted on. I couldn't believe how many people were voting for it...OR how many congress people weren't present to vote! HELLO!! This is a bill that might change our Constitution - why aren't you there?! But I was so happy when the time for voting ended and there weren't enough votes to pass it. And those are only two of the many many many reasons I won't vote to keep someone in office on Nov. 2nd.

That sucks Jan... I was just listening to my Ipod and a song came on that reminded me of what we were talking about regarding Bush and his anti-gay agendas...It's by Barlow, I believe he's a Canadian artist, and it's called Married By Elvis. Has anyone heard it? If not, and you get the chance to check it out...its a very cool song. I think you can see the music video at his website.

I'll be voting bright and early today too. Our polls open at 7 am and both my mom and dad have to work so we're leaving at like 6:40 to go over to the high school. That's why I'm staying up all night - figured that was easier for me than getting up! lol
I'm gonna be glued to the TV all night...eeks.
One of the guys on tv on that radio show Cher called in to said he thinks it's gonna be a popular vote win for Bush and an electoral vote for Kerry...can anyone say "flashback?" If that does happen and the Bush camp says ANYTHING about it I hope someone goes - "HELLO you idiot...this happened four years ago and you didn't have a problem with it then!!"
I'm so nervous...I was walking around all weekend with red nails that said JOHN * KERRY (the star was on my thumb - one letter on each nail) in blue letters with white outlines. Took me like 3 hours to do but it was worth it. And I walked around all day yesterday saying, "because everyday shouldn't be as scary as halloween...vote kerry."
My banner has one more day of life in it...let's hope I go to bed happy tonight and not crying like I did four years ago!!
EVERYONE VOTE!

I went to vote right after work... got to polling place at about 5:30, and didn't get to vote until 8:15!!!! I could not believe the line!!! And the polls were supposed to close at 7:30, but anyone who signed in and got in the line by 7:30 was allowed to vote... and there were like about 200 people in line after me!! The place I voted at was in this really small Union Hall, and they only had six voting booths... The 11:00 news just announced that one of the polling places just closed a few minutes ago!!

Well, here it is, 5 am the day after election day and we still don't have a new president. UGH. How late did you guys all stay up to hear/see what's going on? I've been up since yesterday and was watching the news up until about 2 hours or so ago. And I just checked Yahoo...apparently right now we haven't heard a final projected winner for New Mexico, Iowa or Ohio. (I'm gonna describe what I've heard in case anyone hasn't heard it and wants/needs an update...) Basically - even though news stations are saying otherwise - Ohio is in fact this year's Florida. It's different, but its the same in that its the deciding state. Bush is ahead of Kerry by something like 100,000 votes in Ohio. But not all the votes have yet been counted. Apparently there's like 175,000-200,000 "provisional ballots" that can't be counted for 8-10 days. At about 2:45 am Edwards made a statement in Boston that they were not conceding - they had promised every vote would be counted and they were going to make sure that happened. Iowa had machine malfunctions but most of their numbers are already in too. Both Iowa and NM are leaning towards Bush. But even if he wins both of those he'll have 266 compared to Kerry's 252. (Right now Bush has 254 and Kerry 252). Someone needs at least 270 to win. Ohio is worth 20 - whoever gets Ohio wins. Sorry Dann! You guys are like Florida right now! I've decided I can't stand Tom Brokaw (sp?). I was watching NBC for most of the night and at like 1:45ish or so, Tom gave Ohio to Bush and started arguing with everyone who tried to say there was a chance it could be otherwise. This made me cry. I was soo upset until I flipped around on the commercial and found Dan Rather on CBS. I now love Dan Rather. He kept saying that even though some people had given Bush Ohio, CBS wasn't going to until they were sure. He kept doing unbiased reporting with that hint of "I want Kerry to win" in his comments and tone. He renewed my hope and I love him. This surprises me because as CBS' audience has gotten older since it was the king station in the 70s, its supposedly gotten more conservative. I guess not anymore. I am highly doubting at this point that Kerry's gonna win. I'm sad for both him and Teresa and his family and Edwards. And I'm sad for this country. But I'm glad they're making sure that every ballot is counted and not succumbing to the pressure of the Bush camp. I heard Bush was fussy because he'd wanted to make a statement and go to a party at like 1 am or something and he couldn't because Kerry wouldn't concede. If nothing else I'm glad Kerry's being a thorn in Bush' side. ;D Even though I'm not hopeful, I'm trying to not lose all hope yet. I won't go into all the fears I have for this country if Bush does in fact win. The republicans will have control of the Senate, the House, the executive branch - and what about the possibility of a new justice needing to be appointed? Anyone wanna move with me? Dann - I have heard so much stuff about Ohio and how unprepared places seemed to be to have the voter turn out that there was. I heard people were still in line at 1 am and that by the time they would finally vote at about 3 am, they would have been in line for 15 hours! So much for a happy election night. I guess my banner's got at least one more day of life in it afterall...
