so i didn't get my tattoo for cher, but cher was the main impetus for it!
here is the story behind it: as i'm sure most of you remember, when i was in middle school, i was crazy obsessed with cher. (now i am just normal in love with cher.) my aunt carolyn was really creative with giving me christmas gifts, so if she saw anything remotely related to cher, she'd get it for me. like, when i was 14 or so she got a tshirt airbrushed with cher's face (which i never wore but it was awesome and like THE most thoughtful gift i'd ever gotten ever). then another year she got me this silver pin that said "believe" in these goofy swirly letters, which i also never wore since i don't wear pins, and then my senior year of high school she got me this ridiculous huge wooden box that she must have gotten 75% off at bed bath and beyond or somewhere, and one side was glass, so you'd plug it in and it would light up and say BELIEVE in these crazyass wood letters. and my dad threw it out like five days after christmas because it was ugly, but it was just really funny and thoughtful, like an ongoing joke thing. anyway, my aunt died from breast cancer on july 27th, so i got "believe" tattooed on her birthday (august 11th) -- close to breast area (but below so i won't get fat and "believe" won't become "fdaklreja")
